Hi everyone!

Not much is going on this week, so here are a few pictures from back in late July when the wife and I decided to packed a picnic lunch, grab a few books, and head to a local beach for the day.

While it would be nice to travel to some exotic location, sometimes you only have time to go to a location that is close. The beaches are where I live can get very crowded, but there is one beach that is a bit of a hike (about one mile) from the parking lot. Because not many people are willing to haul their beach stuff a mile through woods, it is easy to find a nice spot.

After setting up the umbrella and blanket, it was time for some extended laziness. The weather wasn't too hot, and the steady breeze kept things cool.

I didn't intend on getting many pictures that day, but I want to try to test the Panasonic GX1 camera with the 20mm f1.7 lens that I recently purchased. Here's a picture of some of the shells along the beach done using a circular polarizer as an ad-hoc neutral density filter.

For those of you more interest in the location, here's a link to Google Maps.

That's all for now.
