Hello, Splinterlands warriors! Welcome back to another weekly Splinterlands social media challenge. Today, I want to share an exciting battle experience using a unique strategy in the Earthquake ruleset. The battle was intense, with additional rulesets Little League and Silenced Summoners, making monster selection extra tricky. The mana cap was 28, and I could choose between Fire, Water, Earth, and Death elements. I ultimately decided to use Dallan as my summoner, while my opponent picked a Water summoner. It was super thrilling, especially since I experimented with the Riftwing + Moxian Rebel duo amidst the earthquake chaos!
My Team:
- Dallan (Lv 4) –
- Halfling Refugee (Lv 3) – Budget tank with Weary and Heal
- Moxian Rebel (Lv 1) – Weapon Training
- Riftwing (Lv 5) – Flying, Scavenger, Backfire
- Venari Marksrat (Lv 5) – Martyr, Snare
- Venari Bonesmith (Lv 5) – Life Leech, Poison
- Ravenhood Warden (Lv 5) – Protect, Inspire
Opponent’s Team:
- Kelya Frendul (Lv 4) –
- Halfling Refugee (Lv 3) – Weary, Heal
- Xenith Monk (Lv 4) – Heal
- Venari Marksrat (Lv 2) – Martyr
- Shock Trooper (Lv 3) – Electrified, Swiftness
- Angelic Mandarin (Lv 4) – Triage
- Ujurak Elder (Lv 5) – Divine Shield, Strengthen
Round 1: A Promising Start
As the battle began, Riftwing received a magic attack buff from Moxian Rebel, immediately pressuring the opponent’s team. Venari Bonesmith landed a hit, applying Poison to the enemy’s Halfling Refugee. Shortly after, Ravenhood Warden eliminated the opponent’s Halfling Refugee, while mine barely survived the Earthquake damage.
Round 2: Arena Chaos!
This round started with my Halfling Refugee falling. The opponent’s Xenith Monk was also poisoned by Venari Bonesmith. Unfortunately, Moxian Rebel couldn’t last long and was taken down by Angelic Mandarin’s arrow.
A surprise came when the opponent’s Venari Marksrat collapsed due to Earthquake, triggering Martyr and buffing Shock Trooper and Xenith Monk. However, Shock Trooper’s Electrified ability backfired, knocking out Xenith Monk faster! Meanwhile, Ujurak Elder also fell this round.
Round 3: Aerial Domination!
By now, my opponent only had two monsters left. With Riftwing growing stronger (thanks to Scavenger) and its Flying ability keeping it safe from Earthquake, victory was within reach! Supported by Ravenhood Warden, I easily cleared the remaining monsters. The battle ended in my favor!

Key Takeaways
- Flying is Key! In Earthquake rulesets, prioritize Flying monsters or those with Shield to reduce damage.
- Magic Breaks Defense! Use magic attacks to bypass Shield-heavy opponents.
- Little League Demands Creativity. With limited options, combos like Weapon Training shine.
- Snare Neutralizes Fliers. Venari Marksrat’s Snare is crucial for grounding airborne threats.
Closing
This battle was a blast, full of unexpected twists! The Moxian Rebel and Riftwing duo proved powerful in this ruleset, especially with Weapon Training boosting the team’s magic.
