Another major update this year that brought about significant changes was Update 15.20. It added a new weekly task system to the game.
First, we need to select the difficulty level of the tasks we want to complete.
Every Monday, we get the chance to take on new tasks, which we have 7 days to complete. Every Monday, the Weekly Tasks are summarized. Each week, we can change the difficulty level of the tasks.
Once we select a difficulty level, we can’t change it until the following week.
Six Kill Tasks and six Delivery Tasks will be randomly selected. You can permanently increase the number of tasks to nine in both groups by purchasing the Permanent Weekly Task Expansion from the Tibia Store for 750 TC.
Tasks are divided into two types:
Kill Tasks—which involve killing a specific number of specific monsters at a selected difficulty level,
Delivery Tasks—which involve collecting a specific number of items.
This week, I chose the Adept task level. I’ll get 791,621 EXP for each task. If I complete all 12 tasks, I’ll get a total of 9,499,452 EXP. That gives me more than one full level. It’s quite a lot and a nice bonus that lets you level up your character in a fun way—and faster, too.
For every task you complete, you’ll earn points that you can spend at the Hunting Task Shop. There, you can buy various outfits. These outfits offer nothing but cosmetic benefits. You can also buy a mount that lets you move a little faster. The most important bonus you can buy with points is skill points.
What’s my take on Weekly Tasks?
It’s definitely an interesting addition to the game. At first, there was a lot of controversy among players because you could level up without ever leaving the depot. It was perceived as a typical “pay-to-win” . In my opinion, it’s a really cool addition to the game that breaks up the monotony. The system forces us to visit different locations and kill monsters other than the usual ones. It definitely makes the game more fun than constantly going to the same spot at a given level just because that’s where it’s most profitable.
Every Monday, I’ll post a summary of the entire week and the new tasks the system has randomly assigned to me! I rarely complete all the tasks—sometimes the items are too expensive, and it’s not worth buying them for that amount of experience. The system also sometimes assigns monsters that are hard to kill at my level, so I have to skip them.
Keep your fingers crossed that I’ll complete everything this week!
