Today I want to share a spot in my home city that is truly iconic—one I hadn't visited in years: La Casa del Gobernador (The Governor's House). Once the residence of the city's governors during the 20th and 21st centuries, it has since been transformed into a luxury restaurant. I had the chance to return there for lunch with my son, and it made me very happy.
It all came about thanks to the International Book Fair, where I attended as a guest writer for various poetry readings and the presentation of my book, La maldita circunstancia del miedo en todas partes. Speaking of the book presentation, I want to thank

I also had the honor of sharing some of my work alongside other distinguished writers at the provincial headquarters of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba.
After those activities, we had the opportunity to have lunch at the beautiful spot I am showing you here. Having the company of my son, 
Many of the events took place right along the Santa Clara Boulevard in central Cuba. At the far end of the boulevard stands La Casa del Gobernador (The Governor's House)—a building that has withstood the passage of time with great dignity. It now presents itself to passersby with a beauty truly worth admiring, inviting visitors to return and enjoy its offerings: a bar, a courtyard café, and restaurants on both the ground and upper floors—the latter being where we were ultimately hosted for our shared lunch.
With an interior courtyard that offers a visual respite—featuring pleasant greenery and the cool, humid atmosphere of a well with crystal-clear water—and perfectly preserved interior balconies that harmonize with the building's enduring colonial style, the property is defined by a design of understated elegance in every space. Here, the interplay of red tones, wood accents, and the artistic beauty of works by national visual artists blends seamlessly with high-quality customer service and exquisite cuisine.
The day was stiflingly hot, with the high temperatures palpable as one walked across the cobblestones. Fortunately, the restaurant had electricity, so we were able to have lunch while enjoying the air conditioning.
Thanks to a duo of local artists, music was also present, adding a special touch to the atmosphere.
I could talk about specific details of the place, but I already did so during a previous visit. For now, I think it is best to leave you with the views and an invitation to visit—if you can—and judge the experience for yourselves.

Hoy quiero compartirles un sitio icónico de mi ciudad de residencia que hacía años no visitaba, La Casa del Gobernador, antaño morada de los gobernadores de la urbe durante el siglo XXI y XX, y ahora devenido restaurante de lujo al que tuve la oportunidad de regresar para almorzar junto a mi hijo y eso me hizo muy feliz.

También en la sede de la Unión de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba, en la filial de la provincia, tuve el honor de compartir parte de mi obra junto a otros prestigiosos escritores.
Luego de dichas actividades, teníamos la posibilidad de almorzar en este lugar tan hermoso al que les traigo. La compañía de mi hijo
Gran parte de las actividades acontecieron en pleno Boulevard de Santa Clara, en el centro de Cuba. Justo al final del boulevard, se encuentraLa Casa del Gobernador, una edificación que ha soportado el paso del tiempo con toda hidalguía y ahora se presenta a los transeúntes con una belleza digna de admirar y que invita a retornar en otras ocasiones para degustar de sus servicios de cantina, cafetería en el patio interior y restaurante en la planta baja y la planta alta, donde en definitiva fuimos recibidos para nuestro almuerzo compartido.
Con un patio interior que ofrece descanso a la vista con su agradable vegetación y humedad propia de un pozo con aguas cristalinas, balcones interiores perfectamente conservados y a tono con el estilo colonial que aún preserva, junto a la sobriedad del diseño que le compone en cada espacio, donde lo predominante del rojo con la madera y la belleza pictórica de artistas plásticos nacionales, todo se conjuga perfectamente con la calidad del servicio en la atención al cliente y la exquisita comida ofrecida.
El día era tremendamente sobrecogedor por las altas temperaturas que se percibían al caminar sobre los adoquines. Por suerte, había electricidad en el restaurante y pudimos almorzar disfrutando del aire acondicionado.
La música, gracias a un dúo de artistas locales, también estaba presente amenizando el clima del momento de manera especial.
Pudiera hablar sobre detalles específicos del lugar, pero ya lo hice en una anterior visita. Por ahora creo es mejor dejarles a ustedes con las vistas y la invitación a que, si les resulta posible, lleguen y valoren por sí mismos sus experiencias.
