Black and white in theater scenes | My entry for #Monomad Challenge [ENG-ESP]

Hello, Hive black-and-white photography lovers!

Hojas de papel volando (Sheets of Paper Flying) is the name of the play I attended last night. I took the opportunity to snap these photos, which I believe capture the essence of the production—enhanced by the contrast that black and white brings to every frame—and I wanted to share them with you.

Sheets of paper reflecting at either end—where light turns into a filter and shades of gray complement one another across the spectrum—mirror this theatrical monologue. In it, Roxana Pineda—a distinguished actress from my city and country, and director of the Teatro La Rosa troupe—takes us through a range of emotions via a narrative rich in symbolism. Here, the voice of the Latin American woman—a victim of both domestic and socio-political violence—seeks to legitimize her essence by engaging with codes in which her sexuality, once acknowledged and respected, demands both recognition and due regard.

The raw quality inherent in the dramaturgy is palpable in every sequence of gestures and scenic element. I hope to have captured these essences in every photograph.

¡Hola amantes de la fotografía en blanco y negro de Hive!

Hojas de papel volando es el nombre de la obra de teatro a la que pude asistir anoche y donde aproveché para realizar estas fotografías que considero captan la esencia de la dramaturgia que quiero compartirles así con el contraste que obsequia el blanco y negro en cada fotograma.

Hojas de papel que se reflejan en cada extremo donde la luz se convierte en filtro donde los grises se complementan hasta un borde u otro del espectro luminoso, al igual que este monólogo teatral donde Roxana Pineda, destacada actriz de mi ciudad y país, directora por demás del grupo Teatro La Rosa, nos transporta por disímiles emociones a través de discursos cargados de simbologías donde el discurso de la mujer latinoamericana, víctima de la violencia doméstica y político-social, busca legitimar su esencia jugando con códigos en los que la sexualidad reconocida y respetada merece reclamo y consideración apropiada.

En cada cadena gestual y elementos de la escenografía se percibe la crudeza que la dramaturgia ofrece. En cada fotografía, espero haber logrado captar estas esencias.

Complacido por la oportunidad, en espera de los criterios que puedan brindarnos, me despido con un abrazo de luz a cada uno de ustedes hasta un próximo fotograma en blanco y negro, no sin antes recordarles que ¡no dejen de sonreír!
