It took me a lot of time to decide whether I am going to write on this topic or not. I am not a hater, a very common sentence most of the people use to say if you ask them this question: what is your most hated thing in the world? Well, we are not haters but there are things which make us hyper and annoyed so that is the thing which you hate the most. I figured it out, but now, I feel there are so many things which makes me angry but I don’t hate all of these because at times, I am one of them too, doing the same useless thing. I kept on thinking and thinking to find out my most hated thing.
I have to make sure that this thing should not be something which I also do either by mistake or intentionally. I usually avoid back biting and also advice my friends to avoid the same. I avoid useless arguments. I don’t like people ignoring other people intentionally. Well, there are so many things which I don’t like and also in my friend’s circle, I am popular as a gentleman, no abusive words, keep advising friends to avoid beep beep words. But I think there is a difference between not liking and hating something. I could say easily that my most hated thing is abusive language but that’s not true because I do have friend’s company and at work, where people normally use these slang words, it is just that I don’t like this type of conversation. So, I kept on thinking to find out my most hated thing.
Finally, after digging myself a lot, I would say that the most hated thing for me is miscommitments and lame excuses. In my opinion, both of them are connected in some way or the other. Most of the people in my country don’t take these words seriously, but I always make sure to avoid DE commitments and lame excuses. There are so many memories of it where I got super hyper but the good thing is, I changed this habit of many of my friends which is great for their lives too. These things spoil your personality.
I always make sure to fulfill my commitments on time or do inform concern party in advance with actual reason, not at the last moment. I have one friend circle in which mostly they cancel or postpone gathering just because of lame excuses at the last moment that is the reason I do not join them very often. Only when one of my friend pick me up from my home to gather at some place. They all know it very well. Recently, when I invited my friends in my son’s first birthday, I called them one week prior to the event and asked them to make sure you confirm your presence in the event by tomorrow as we have some limited arrangements according to the people coming on that event. They all agreed and confirmed to be on time. I gave a reminder msg on the group a day before the event and everyone says the same. I was shocked as no one gives lame excuse for not attending the party. However, I received a call from one of my friend a night before the event saying his daughter is sick and cannot join the party. He always used to give lame excuses so I asked him to make sure he joins the party positively.
Surprisingly, he came alone with the gift just to make sure that he is not giving a lame excuse but on the other hand, one of my close friend, who was confirmed to arrive with the family, excused at the last moment as he got some guests company at home. This is what I hate the most, backing out at the last moment. Such things gives bad impression and is unethical as well. You can make your guests comfortable for a while and can excuse them by informing them about your commitment. It is not that hard to manage such situations. I never do that. Well, backing out is very common in my country specially between close friends but I hate this thing which spoils and waste time of other person who cancelled everything just to make sure to be with you.
I hate lame excuses which are easily traced out. There is a slight difference between a lie and a lame excuse in my opinion. Lame excuse is something silly which can be caught so easily, which a person says in a hurry without even thinking what he is saying. For example, we used to have a friend who had a factory of lame excuses. One day he is money-less and in very critical situation and the other day, he buys a new packed cell phone worth $150. This is just making other person stupid. At work, I asked my team never to give me lame excuse, better to be clear and says the actual thing in order to avoid further discrepancies. I hope that I never follow these things in my whole life.
