WOW time is running so fast, we were just thinking of this day a month ago and here we are, did fasting for whole month and it all went like a flash. Time to celebrate and thank God for everything, specially for the strong faith and spirit due to which we were able to fast for the whole month of Ramadan.
This year we had 30 days of fasting and Eid was announced for 22nd April 2023. Preparations for Eid started midnight because we have to get ready and start preparing ourselves plus other stuffs for guests, too many things but the most important thing for ladies on this occasion is Henna (Mehndi). Different designs and artwork are crafted on hands and feet. This is the real excitement for girls and kids. Beauty parlors and saloons were open all night and this is the busiest spot for ladies.
My Wife get it all done in three long hours but luckily, we have some Henna Specialist just below our house and they are our relatives as well so, she got her hands and feet designed with Henna at night.
Now, when she was back, it was time for me to get a fresh look. How lazy I am aaahhh now I don’t have any other option or excuse to delay this thing so finally I got a new look, got refreshed and ready for the prayers. One more thing to remember, I didn’t sleep for two days, just took couple of naps which were not enough for me lol
Me and my Father went for Eid prayers at 6 in the morning, happy moments. Almost all shops were closed however, we bought some bread and eggs to have a nice breakfast from dairy shop, went back home. The tradition of exchanging hugs in EID is awesome thing, I like it very much and I used to do it with every person. My Father was the first one with whom I exchanged hugs.
After that my son was ready in new outfits, we hugged each other. Then my nephew Shahzaib got ready and we did the same traditional thing. hugs were all around.
My little one trying to walk and stand on his own, was very excited to see his new shoes. I don’t know why my both kids love their shoes a lot, don’t want to take them off.
Now, its time for some selfies.
My Wife get good color of henna and it was looking great on her hands and feet. I am sure you all will agree with me on this as you don’t have any other option hehehehe
Wow our little princess is up and she also hot Henna on her hands, just look at her face. She is also too much excited with her gorgeous outfit and Henna design on her hands. Smiling and posing.
I was little hungry so my Wife cooked some noodles for me, quick meal for hungry tummy hehehe
Time to show love to my Mother who was little upset and worried as my elder bro didn’t came yet, it was the first time he got so late, called him and bad news, tyre of the car got punctured so he was busy in that. Well, I was trying to cheer up my Mother.
Our traditional meals for the Eid feast were all ready for the guests.
And here comes our first guest of the day, my cousin. Again as usual, hugs were exchanged and then we had some selfies. Now, coming to the main topic of EID which is EIDI, the traditional gift of money which is given by elders to young ones. My parents, Sister in Law and my Wife presented him the Eidi and he in returned, gave Eidi to our kids. After that, he tasted some food and departed.
Lunch time, my elder bro still not arrived and my parents were worried so, called him again. The main reason of him not coming yet was the illness of my sister in law. She was not feeling well and was little dizzy so he asked to have lunch and he will join us in the evening.
We had lunch together wow it was really nice.
After lunch, we were having a little discussion about my elder bro, who didn’t came yet. Seeing my parents worried, I asked them not to get worried anymore, I will go and make sure everything ok and will bring them with me. Immediately, went to my bro’s home through online bike. They all got surprised seeing me there lol sister in law was taking rest and was looking weak. Me with my nephew went outside to have some energy drink or medicine but unfortunately, all medical stores were closed so we bought some banana shake and I thought this will give her some energy. Maybe she took some tension or she didn’t get enough sleep, not sure but was hoping that she get well soon so we can leave for our home. While they got busy in getting ready, I fall asleep and my sister in law recorded the video of me sleeping hahaha I was there for her and in the end, I was looking like a sick person.
They woke me up when they all ready and we headed to our home sweet home.
My Mother loves Kachori, one more traditional food item of Eid in Pakistan. My bro bought some from one of the popular and famous spot.
I went to another market to buy some fresh Gulab Jamun (Sweets). He is selling this sweet on four wheeler cart. These small balls like sweet are great to have on these special occasions.
OMG! how can I forget the birthday of my little princess, yes its 22nd April and she turned two this year. However, my bro already celebrated her birthday with Shahzaib (which I shared in my past posts) according to the Islamic calendar but there is nothing wrong in celebrating birthday twice a year hehe so, I went to the bakery and bought a nice Pistachio cream cake.
When I went back home, it was really nice to see other guests were enjoying the party. Yes, house was full of kids, running around and everyone busy in their gossips.
One more cousin visits us with his wife and kid. These occasions gives us the reason to meet and greet each other because we all are so busy in our normal routine life that we don’t get such chances so easily.
Now, its time to celebrate the birthday of our little princess. Everyone clapped and sung the birthday song. WOW Eid and birthday on the same day hhmm experienced this first time. She didn’t get any gifts because it was already presented earlier and we just had some piece of cake, it was delicious.
I had a very busy day but it was fantastic to have everyone around and finally, my sister in law also got ok or maybe she made herself ok with the situation and people. She said if I would be at home, maybe I wont get better so it was good decision to get fresh air outside and now feeling better.
After everyone left, I don’t know when I fall asleep but I woke up 7 in the morning, missed my post of the day and many other things. As you all know, I am a lazy person so doing a little makes me too much tired. I had a wonderful first day of Eid and enjoyed a lot with my family and friends.
