Laughter is the best medicine and to provide this medicine free of cost, we have comedians, who work hard day and night, creating different jokes and scripts, just to make us laugh. Their main goal is to make us laugh with their words, actions or anyhow, our smiles and laugh is their achievement. This type of work is never easy, making others laugh at times when a person is so hurt inside, but they do their job sincerely and with loyalty. There are millions of comedians around the world who are doing this great job of making others happy so I would like to thank all those comedians in my first paragraph.
Talking about comedy, it is very very different all around the world. What I find funny in Pakistan could be a serious thing for other countries or maybe even not a joke so it varies and depends on the cultures and background. Humor play an important role all around the world but each country has their own taste of jokes and different ways of making people laugh. Language is one of the important thing as well, what I find funny in Urdu is not necessarily translates the same in other language. Words play key role in such type of comedy. So, in short, different countries have their own taste of comedy.
There are many comedians I like but Mr. Umer Sharif, I think he is the King of Comedy. I have been watching him since my childhood. He is very famous in subcontinent because of his comedy. He is the king of stage shows. He belongs to a middle class family when he joined the team of stage shows. He started making people laugh from the age of 14-15. The best thing about him was he used to write the dramas and then perform them in stage shows, he worked on a great idea of shooting his own stage shows which they perform live and later on, those cassettes were spread all over the world. His stage shows are so famous all around the world, he has a big fan following.
I must say, he was so perfect with his timing in delivering the words, just at the right time, with his unique way of talking. Standup comedy and stage shows are not easy, you don’t have option to retake. He not only groomed himself but also raised a big team of comedians. He introduced so many comedians through his stage shows. He used to train them well and guide them properly due to which many of the Artists got so famous. I just love watching those stage shows, all of them are so funny and always gives a message in the end, his stories written are not just funny but he always have a message to the people, teaching some lesson.
I have watched all of his stage shows and few movies as well. Other comedians do copy his scripts and many of them do accept this fact that he is GURU and the best teacher to them in Comedy genre. He used to make his own songs, sometimes funny language and tunes, making different faces, his actions, he just amazingly makes everyone laugh. That’s the talent he got and he continued making us all laugh till the end, even when he was not well, he used to perform and host talk shows, talking to different celebrities and mostly, making their fun but no one minds his jokes and humor. His brain works very fast in replying any question with funny answer, he never give a loophole to anyone but perfectly catches the loopholes of others and then just drag that point until the other person start asking for mercy lol
He was too good in his job. He had several times guest appearance in Indian award shows and one event he always used to talk about, he was asked not to make any joke about Amitab Bacchan, the legend, one of the best actor of Bollywood. The first thing he did when he came on stage was talking about one of the film of Amitab Bachan, he made fun of couple of scenes from his movies. Whole crowd was amused and laughing, even Amitab himself was smiling and in the end, unable to stop laughing out loud. HE was such a nice person and great personality. Sadly, he is no more with us but we still used to watch his stage shows and enjoy our time laughing and laughing more.
