This time I found a group of mushrooms that were a bit strange, they grew on a dead piece of wood and were divided into groups with different shapes, and this is the first time I've seen this type of mushroom.
Cyathus striatus striatus, commonly known as fluted bird's nest, is a common saprobic bird's nest fungus with a wide distribution throughout the temperate regions of the world. This mushroom resembles a miniature bird's nest with lots of tiny "eggs"; eggs, or peridioles , are actually lens-shaped objects containing spores. C. striatus can be distinguished from most other bird's nest fungi by its hairy exterior and grooved (striated) inner walls. Although most often found growing on dead wood in open forest, it also grows on woodchip mulch in urban areas. Fruit bodies are found from summer to early winter. The color and size of this species varies somewhat, but is usually less than one centimeter wide and high, and is gray or brown in color. Another common name given to C. striatus , cup splash , refers to the method of dispersal of spores : the sides of the cup are angled in such a way that falling water droplets can dislodge the peridioles and expel them from the cup, a special nickname comes from the Latin stria , meaning "with fine ridges or grooves".

That's what sources say about this mushroom, but in my opinion, this mushroom is also similar to a clam, but even though it looks hard and sharp, it turns out that this mushroom is soft and a little rough, out of curiosity I pulled out two mushrooms for me to hold and take a closer look at the shape of the mushroom. the seeds that are inside this mushroom
The seeds are very similar to chili seeds, and all the seeds are also hard, one mushroom can contain 8-10 seeds, but the question is, where did the seeds come from and whether these seeds will later become the seeds of this mushroom to grow back, I brought home some seeds to answer the question, if it grows, then my argument works, if not then my statement is wrong
This group of mushrooms has several different mushrooms, the young mushrooms look like they haven't bloomed yet and are still tightly covered with a white liquid. no longer have seeds, and are filled with rainwater, and some are slightly black in color and have complete seeds
The outside of some young mushrooms does look like a bird's nest, the outer skin is like knitted burlap, but if it has bloomed, the physical form of the mushroom is more like a shell, really strange, but true, in my whole life, this is the first time I have seen such a strange mushroom this, even at first I thought it was a clam shell filled with pebbles, but seeing young mushrooms among them, that's where the reason why I photographed this mushroom
