Yea - I had enough grass growing under my feet this last 2 years. Spent like 10600 on rent, and have no housing security here, or long term equity, or anything. I'll probably leave by the end of May or the end of June.

I'm ~34, and I've been renting since age 17 or so. That's a shit-ton of money lost, even though I have mostly always rented between $600 and $400 a month. That's half of my life at around $500 a month.

That's over ~$100k.

Just bleeding out over time. I'm going to stop doing that. I'll leave soon.

Just make sure public utilities are available. Climbing Gym and Library.

For food:

I will probably start with a cooler.

They have dometic brand coolers that are 12v and pretty standard. That would run off of the power setup I'm going to install. That's like $90.

I cook a lot of eggs, and beans and rice on the stove. Propane Setup is like $50

Also, its possible to sprout lentils, and make oatmeal. I don't go out. I would probably go to the grocery store more frequently, like store less each time, refill a 7 gal water tank.

There's also dumpstering, about two years ago, I ate really well, just living off of the Trader Joes Dumpster in Santa Fe, NM.

Haven't had a way to do that here in Eugene for regular groceries. There's also volunteering / utilizing the food banks.

I'm also considering 'adopting' a field or something like that. Basically set up a rogue compost system, and then plant some things that will grow of their own accord and then harvest them. Dandelion greens. Horseradish Greens. Wild Onions.

My long term plan is to kill a few thousand in debts, and then save money to buy a cabin in the desert. Probably do this car camping for 1-2 years.
