Mobile Art Studio:
I bought a camper van today.
I've been spending and hustling making erotic comics for the last two years to make Rent each month, and while I've managed to make rent each month, not everything has worked out that smoothly:
- most of my other bills have gone unpaid, and small debts have stacked.
- I'm not even really that welcome in this community
- My daughter's mom doesn't want to form an equality compromise
- No sexual relationships or friendships really holding me in place.
- No former friendships are willing to co-operate on some property in the High Desert, atm.
So, I'm just going to say fuck it, and create a Mobile Art Studio for myself, and focus my blog and community work on:
- Kickstarter Projects [Graphic Novels]
- Patreon
- HIVE Blockchain
- ETH Cryptoart
I'll be able to work on projects for a longer period of time, without stressing as much about specifically finishing or launching to secure funding by the time the next rental check is due. I'll probably miss plumbing, but you know. Such is life.
Anyways, a guy named Duke is going to drive the van down on Monday evening.
I've spent the last few days obsessively going over details, and reviewing potential paths forward. The van living space is about 10' long by 5' wide and 4' tall. So, It will be enough space to live and work.
I'll probably get a climbing gym membership so I can shower, and have an external bathroom, and work out. Been wanting to be a regular there for a while, but it was always so expensive.
Not if I don't pay rent.
Electrical:
I found some neat videos on youtube:
This One was about this piece of equipment which connects solar battery banks to the car's battery and is recharged via the alternator. Apparently it self regulates all of this itself, and connects to panels on the roof.
The consequence of this is something along the lines of 3 Hours of Driving every 5 days, or a set of 100W Panels on the Roof will cover 8 hours of operation of my workstation each day.
These will be redundant systems, automatically balanced, so, every time the car is moving, or the sun is out, the car battery, and the solar bank will be trickle charged.
I'll also have room for my printer. So, the van itself will basically be a mobile art studio. Sounds reasonable.
Brain Dump:
I've never done this before. Sometimes, I just dump my brain into things and try to absorb as much information as possible.
This week it was:
- Basic Mechanical Evaluations for Buying Used Cars.
- 400W Solar Panel Setups for Vans, with considerations for Batteries / components
- An Intensive on Volvo maintenance evaluations [Did not end up getting a Volvo.]
- Basic Solar Panel Structures.
- Basic Construction for SUVs and Camper Vans.
- Sociological survey of #Vanlife via Documentaries on Youtube.
- Budget and Project Execution plans and timelines.
Basic Questions:
I'm trying to financially gamify this Campervan experiment.
- What is the Minimal Viable Product for executing graphic novel projects while living within a Van?
- How does this impact your bottom line financially each month?
- How will you maintain or improve your quality of life / health / business while living in a van?
- How can this be done in a way that preserves value, and minimizes catastrophic failure?
- Can you live in this van long enough to pay for the expenses of the van, in what would have been funds spent on rent?
I have a small list of things to attend to before transitioning, but there's no real rush, because some of the time is shipping dependent, and some of the time is quarantine dependent.
I have reached a detachment period emotionally, having made a decision on the vehicle and electrical systems.
With these decisions made, I've got an opportunity to resume some more disciplined daily work ethic. I'll be investing in this Mobile Art Studio, and in HIVE, and in my business, and my health.
Taxes, Investments, and Coronavirus Recession:
Another bit of thing that I learned about recently was a refresher course on the difference between short term capital gains and long term capital gains.
Turns out if you want to seriously invest in cryptocurrencies, it really only makes sense to HODL for a year before considering withdrawl. Otherwise, it doesn't matter what you gain, unless it also includes 12-22% of taxes for short term gains.
Other Mind Dumps of mine have recently been concerning:
- Bitcoin & Ethereum Ecosystem and Price Action in relevance to Infinite Quantitative Easing, and the CoronaVirus Recession.
- HIVE Fork / Dump.
- Potential methods and benefits of investing in Bitcoin / Ether / HIVE.
Thus far, I'm thinking Bitcoin ought to be useful for holding value and gaining on the post halvening bull run.
But, I'm suspecting that if that's the case, and BTC has market dominance, that most other coins will go up as well. ETH and HIVE for example.
ETH is rad, as an asset and ecosystem, because 2.0 is being launched in July. That's promising, and exciting.
And HIVE was just dumped massively due to the Justin Sun problem, by what I hear is a block of nationalistic or racially empathetic korean and chinese users of the Steemit / Tron chain.
Some people think that Justin Sun will dump Steemit, and he's indicated that he wants to do that, but he may also just turn it into a centralized korean / chinese blockchain social media network -- basically what zuckerberg wanted to do with Facebook, but hasn't achieved yet.
It's interesting, because this will align financial incentives for people to continue to post on the Steemit Blockchain, in order to derive rewards from that population.
Organizationally though, the project doesn't seem like it will have much creativity or interest. I've got a hardon for the cryptoanarchist hackers, BUIDLing their decentralized social network utopia. Taking radical experiments, and rapid iterations for developing and solving problems.
Plus I like the sincerity and leadership offered by the people who split the chain, and the people who supported them.
Looks like a good investment. I'll probably be powering up and focusing on regular posts / engagement / voting while I work out of the Mobile Art Studio.
Try out different blogging communities. Travel, Actfit -- but mostly just daily project updates, and sharing my work.
Ought to be enough to keep me busy for the next 12 months, do a few projects.

Just sharing some thoughts here. I'll probably expand on the ideas when there is more concrete action here. For now, I'm just decompressing and settling into a new direction.

I kind of got jumbled for a week, needed to make some long term life decisions, so they didn't get kicked down the road, because each month that passes without the financial long term efficiency of the Mobile Art Studio is kind of like a weight, or bleeding out.
I needed to figure out where I wanted to invest some resources for a one year plan, so I could focus on things that were working, and disengage from things that were not working. My brain just needed to switch modes, so my attention can resume Daily Hive Art Project Updates.
Also Daily / Weekly Updates for Kickstarter / Patreon.
And consequentially, shipping Alice Slays the Jabberwock.
Patrons have specified that they want weekly updates, and Kickstarter has not specified anything yet. Apparently 1-3 posts a day on HIVE are fair game, as long as they are quality posts.
