TLDR:
If the exchanges are going to be cowards, then the best bet for financial compensation of losses is in a law suit.
STEEM looks like it's going to die in like 4 weeks, and if the exchanges hem and haw around during that time -- the stolen funds will be dumped on by the rest of the ecosystem.
Value might shift significantly toward HIVE if STEEM collapses, which may be likely backlash due to all of this scandal.
I'd guess Binance has just enough plausbile deniability to get off from being directly responsible for this all in a legal sense -- even if CZ loses whatever credibility they had due to associating with Justin Sun.

Hey Clay,
It just feels like the angry mob thing isn't going to work out that well.
Seems like:
- Pursuing an Injunction with Bittrex to hold the funds there as stolen property while pushing the class action law suit is the best path forward.
Unfortunately for those people, in addition to getting their funds stolen, the price of STEEM is most definately going to tank in the next four weeks.
People who have had their money tied up on the exchanges, will want to get out.
People who aren't down with thievery or censorship will want to get out.
People who want to avoid lawsuits will want to get out.
Justin will want to get out.
The best case scenario would be if Bittrex were to convert the funds to DAI and then send them out now.
But if they are too cautious to do that, -- then it really doesn't matter what Binance does.
Binance is without morals, and a bitch, etc. And they are clearly manipulating via feigning ignorance and public opinion.
But also, whether they delist steem right now doesn't have any bearing on the coins being held by Bittrex.
It does mean that they collude with justin sun, and that they endorse shitcoins, and that they turn a blind eye to hijacking governance, and outright thievery.
In that sense, people ought to just stop using Binance.
But the actual issue here has been punted into Bittrex's court, and with the accellerated powerdown, I think we're going to see a rats fleeing the ship sort of thing.
.:.
Unless there is a universal rejection of the hardfork -- which is not going to happen.
Or if there's a way to get steem witnesses in there to run a different consensus chain to reinstate things -- which seems like lost ground.

There's sort of a risky maneuver, where you send the money back to Community 321, and simulaniously have blocktrades swap for HIVE to correlated accounts. -- but that puts a lot of power and risk on a single person.
