Hello Everyone! Hope you all are doing great and welcome to another #Splinterlands post.
Alright, time for another #Splinterlands card spotlight!
Today I鈥檓 looking at a card that immediately caught my attention because, just look at this guy.
Executioner Kraan
Executioner Kraan is an Epic Death unit, and at level 6, which is the max level, it has some really interesting stats and abilities.
Here are the stats:
Mana: 6
Melee Attack: 4
Health: 8
Speed: 3
Armor: 6
And the abilities are:
Void Armor: Magic damage hits armor before health.
Weaken: -1 max health to all enemy units.
Oppress: Deals double damage to targets with no attack.
Honestly, that's a pretty scary combination.
The first thing I noticed was the 6 armor.
That's a LOT for a card with only 6 mana.
Then you add 8 health on top of that and suddenly you've got a unit that can take quite a beating.
The speed isn't anything special though.
At 3 speed, Kraan isn't exactly going first every round.
But honestly, I don't think speed is really what this card is about.
This guy is more about surviving hits and hitting back HARD.
And with 4 melee attack, it's definitely capable of doing some serious damage.
For 6 mana, I think the overall stat package is pretty solid.
Void Armor: Magic damage hits armor before health.
Let's start with Void Armor.
This ability makes magic damage hit the armor first before it reaches health.
And I really like this ability on Kraan.
Normally, magic attacks can be a big problem for heavily armored units.
You can have a giant amount of armor and then some magic attacker comes along and completely ignores it.
Very annoying.
But with Void Armor, that isn't quite the case.
Kraan gets to actually make use of all that armor against magic damage.
And when you've got 6 armor, that's a pretty big deal.
It means the opponent might need much more damage than expected to take Kraan down.
Weaken: -1 max health to all enemy units.
Next up is Weaken.
This one affects all enemy units.
Basically, every enemy loses 1 max health.
And honestly, I really like abilities that affect the entire enemy team.
Because even if Kraan isn't attacking everyone, it's still doing something.
The moment the battle starts, the opposing team is already losing some maximum health.
That can be especially useful against lineups that rely on lots of smaller units.
A unit that starts with 5 health suddenly has 4.
A unit with 4 health goes down to 3.
And those little differences can actually matter quite a lot.
Sometimes a single point of health is the difference between surviving an attack and getting completely destroyed.
Oppress: Deal double damage to no-attack targets.
And now we get to the fun one.
Oppress.
This ability deals double damage to targets that have no attack.
So if your opponent has a support unit sitting somewhere in the back with no attack, Kraan can absolutely punish it.
Imagine your opponent has one of those annoying utility units that doesn't attack but provides buffs or some other support.
Normally, you might ignore it for a while.
But with Oppress?
Kraan can potentially turn that harmless-looking target into an easy kill.
And I actually think this gives the card a really interesting niche.
It's not just a tank.
It's also capable of punishing certain team compositions.
What I really like about Executioner Kraan is that its abilities don't feel completely random.
They all have a purpose.
Void Armor helps it survive magic.
Weaken makes the entire enemy team weaker.
And Oppress gives it extra damage against no attack targets.
So you're getting defense, team utility and offensive pressure all in one card.
That's pretty nice for 6 mana.
With 4 melee attack, 8 health and 6 armor, I think Kraan can make a pretty good frontline unit.
The 6 armor is probably the biggest reason.
Physical attackers are going to have to chew through that armor first.
And if magic attackers show up, Void Armor gives that armor some protection there too.
And while the enemy is trying to do that, Weaken is already reducing their max health.
Personally, I'd use Executioner Kraan as a frontline tank.
I'd want some good support behind it.
Healing could obviously help keep it alive longer, while other damage dealers can take advantage of the time Kraan gives them.
I'd also pay attention to the opponent's lineup.
If I see a team with magic attackers, Void Armor becomes much more interesting.
If I see support units with no attack, that's when Oppress starts looking REALLY good.
And if the enemy has a bunch of smaller units?
Weaken can make them even easier to take down.
Overall, I think Executioner Kraan is a pretty cool Epic Death unit.
It's not necessarily the fastest.
It's not going to dodge everything.
And Oppress won't always be useful.
But when the matchup is right, this thing can be nasty.
The combination of 6 armor + 8 health already gives it a strong defensive foundation.
Then Void Armor makes it more resistant to magic damage.
Weaken reduces the max health of the entire enemy team.
And Oppress gives it a way to punish those no-attack targets hiding in the back.
So yeah, I definitely wouldn't call this card boring.
It's basically a heavily armored executioner that walks into battle and starts making everyone's life harder.
Anyway thats it for today鈥檚 #Splinterlands grind. Please do give your reviews in the comments section below. I would really appreciate it :)
I'll be back with another one soon. So do follow me if you want to stay updated. Till then, Stay Happy and Stay Hydrated.
