Hello Everyone! Hope you all are doing amazing and welcome to another #Splinterlands post.
It's time for another #Splinterlands Card Spotlight, and today I wanted to take a closer look at a card that really surprised me when I checked all of its abilities.
The card is Hrolfa.
Hrolfa is an Epic Life/Water unit, and at Level 6 (max level) it unlocks four abilities that are all about helping your team survive longer while making your attacks more reliable.
At first I honestly thought it was just another support monster. But after reading everything, I think there's much more to it than that.
The artwork is probably the first thing that grabbed my attention.
Hrolfa looks calm but also ready for battle. The archer design really fits the card, and I like how it doesn't look overdone.
Looking at the stats, it has:
Mana Cost: 6
Attack: 3 Ranged
Health: 5
Armor: 2
Speed: 3
The raw stats aren't anything crazy, but honestly I don't think this card is supposed to carry games with damage.
Its real strength comes from supporting the rest of your team.
Protect: +2 armor to all allied units.
The first ability is Protect.
This gives +2 Armor to all allied units.
This is always one of my favorite support abilities because extra armor can completely change the first few rounds of battle.
Sometimes surviving one extra attack is all your team needs to start taking control.
Especially against melee or ranged teams, this ability is really useful.
Repair: Restores 2 armor to the allied unit with the most damage to its armor.
Next comes Repair.
Every round, Hrolfa restores 2 Armor to the friendly monster with the most damaged armor.
I really like how Protect and Repair work together.
First you give everyone extra armor, then you keep fixing it during the battle.
That makes your frontline much harder to take down.
Pinpoint: Allied sneak attacks cannot miss.
This ability is honestly pretty interesting.
Pinpoint makes all allied Sneak attacks impossible to miss.
That sounds really strong.
We've all had battles where Sneak attackers miss because of Dodge or high Speed.
With Pinpoint, those attacks become much more reliable.
If you're running a Sneak-focused lineup, I think this ability becomes incredibly valuable.
Dodge: +25% chance to evade physical attacks.
The last ability is Dodge.
This gives Hrolfa a 25% higher chance to evade physical attacks.
For a support monster, that's actually really nice.
Support cards are always valuable, so keeping them alive longer means they continue providing buffs throughout the battle.
A missed attack against Hrolfa could easily become the difference between winning and losing.
Personally, I think Hrolfa fits really well in defensive teams.
Protect and Repair already make your frontline much stronger.
Then Pinpoint helps aggressive Sneak teams land every hit.
It almost feels like this card supports both offense and defense at the same time.
That's something I really like.
I'd probably place Hrolfa somewhere safely in the middle or backline where it can keep supporting everyone without becoming an easy target.
After looking over everything, here are my favorite parts:
Protect helps the entire team.
Repair keeps armor alive longer.
Pinpoint makes Sneak attacks much more reliable.
Dodge helps Hrolfa survive.
Great combination of offensive and defensive support.
Honestly, there aren't many support cards that can do all of those things together.
No card is perfect though.
A few small weaknesses I noticed are:
Doesn't deal huge damage.
Depends on teammates to really shine.
Magic-heavy opponents can ignore most of the armor support.
Needs good positioning to stay alive.
Still, these aren't really major problems considering its role.
Overall, I think Hrolfa is a really solid support card.
Instead of trying to carry battles alone, it makes the entire team stronger.
Extra armor, repairing damaged armor, helping Sneak attackers land every hit, and having Dodge to protect itself, that's actually a pretty impressive kit.
I think this card would work especially well in longer matches where armor restoration has more time to make a difference.
Sometimes people focus too much on attack power, but support monsters like Hrolfa remind us that keeping your team alive is just as important.
I'm definitely interested in trying this card someday because I think it could fit into a lot of different team compositions.
Anyway thats it for todayโs #Splinterlands grind. Please do give your reviews in the comments section below. I would really appreciate it :)
I'll be back with another one soon. So do follow me if you want to stay updated. Till then, Stay Happy and Stay Hydrated.
