Hello Everyone! Hope you all are doing amazing and welcome to another #Splinterlands post.
Time for another #Splinterlands card spotlight post, and today I wanted to talk about a card that immediately caught my attention because of two things:
It's insanely expensive.
It has one of the most annoying ability combinations I've seen so far.
The card I'm talking about is, Umbral Elemental.
This is an Epic Death unit, and honestly, after looking at its abilities, I can understand why its Black Foil version costs around $260.
That is definitely way outside my budget.
But that doesn't stop me from appreciating how powerful this card actually is.
The first thing I noticed about Umbral Elemental was that it doesn't really look like a traditional tank.
Usually when I think of tanks, I imagine huge armor, massive health pools, and slow movement.
But Umbral Elemental feels different.
Here are the max-level stats:
Mana Cost: 9
Magic Attack: 3
Health: 7
Armor: 5
Speed: 3
At first glance, the health doesn't look amazing.
But once you actually look at the abilities, things become very interesting.
This card is basically built to absorb punishment while also supporting the entire team.
Taunt: Draws the attacks of enemy units.
Normally, Taunt can be risky because you're basically telling the entire enemy team to attack you.
But in this case, that is exactly what makes this card strong.
Instead of your fragile backline getting destroyed, Umbral Elemental takes all the pressure.
And honestly, protecting your damage dealers is often the difference between winning and losing.
Swiftness: +1 speed to all allied units.
Now, speed is something I personally underestimate sometimes.
But speed matters A LOT.
Higher speed means:
Better chance to attack first
Better chance to dodge attacks
Better overall team efficiency
So Umbral Elemental isn't just protecting your team.
It's actually making your whole lineup stronger.
That's pretty crazy for a tank card.
Deflection Shroud: At the start of battle, adjacent units gain Deflect.
This means nearby allies become protected against reflected damage effects.
Honestly, this ability feels very strategic.
There are some matches where reflected damage can completely destroy your own attackers.
Having protection against that can make a huge difference.
This is the type of ability that newer players might ignore, but experienced players probably love.
Void: 50% less damage from magic attacks or 0 damage from magic attacks of 1 power.
And this ability works perfectly with Taunt.
Since Umbral Elemental is attracting attacks anyway, reducing magic damage makes it survive much longer.
Magic teams are always scary because they ignore armor.
But Void helps counter that problem quite a bit.
Honestly, this combination feels kind of unfair.
The Black Foil version costs around $260.
That's expensive.
Like REALLY expensive.
For that amount of money, I could probably buy several games, some books, and still have money left.
But I guess rarity plus usefulness equals high price in #Splinterlands.
And after seeing all these abilities together, I kinda understand why collectors and competitive players would want it.
If I ever had enough money to buy expensive #Splinterlands cards, Umbral Elemental would definitely be on my wishlist.
It isn't just a tank.
It isn't just support.
It isn't just anti-magic defense.
It's basically all of those things combined into one card.
And honestly, that's what makes it so scary.
Maybe someday I'll actually get to play with one instead of just admiring it from a distance.
Until then, I'll keep dreaming.
Anyway thats it for todayโs #Splinterlands grind. Please do give your reviews in the comments section below. I would really appreciate it :)
I'll be back with another one soon. So do follow me if you want to stay updated. Till then, Stay Happy and Stay Hydrated.
