I love the sea. Maybe it has something to do with Lee Ann Womack's I hope you dance. I especially like the line where she sings,I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean. I actually like many lines in that song.
Here is the full lyrics of the song.
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Livin' might mean takin' chances, but they're worth takin'
Lovin' might be a mistake, but it's worth makin'
Don't let some Hellbent heart leave you bitter
When you come close to sellin' out, reconsider
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance (Time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along)
I hope you dance
I hope you dance (Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder)
I hope you dance (Where those years have gone?)
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
Dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance (Time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along)
I hope you dance (Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder?)
I stood at the beach and this was the song ringing through my mind. This time I did not feel small standing beside the ocean. I felt turbulently at peace. Or is it peacefully turbulent? I don't know. I just know there was turbulence and then peace, all in the one basin and that basin was stuck to my chest. Have you ever felt that way before?
Maybe you have you had a rough few days and you can't even figure out why they are so rough.
Maybe you woke up today feeling like you could not suffer through another twenty-four hours.
And when those little moments of laughter came, you held on a little tighter, hoping that they would fill up your instense hunger for just a little taste of joy.
Maybe, you shed tears that even you didn't see.
So there you are, suffocating and suffering, yet there is this peace that belies the raging storm that is rising within your belly. You do not know where it come from but then...
you sail through those rough patches gracefully, holding your head up and letting no man see the tremble in your chin.
You get up, brush your teeth, and take a bath even though you ache to be back in the safety of your bed where the canker of the world can not reach you.
And those little moments, even though they left you hungrier, sufficed. Yes, they were just enough to keep you going-going where your joy could some day be filled.
You comforted yourself, told yourself a bunch of cliches that soothed you. For 'this too shall pass' is cliche for good reason. It will surely pass.
And though you suffered, you did not abandon hope.
I do not abandon hope.
For faith, hope and love abides, these three... but when the tunnel is dark and faith and love cannot reach you, the greatest is hope.
If you want to watch as the sea speaks, you can do so hereand here.
I hope you catch an epiphany.
