Some time ago, I came across an artist on YouTube whose music somehow helped me get through some days that felt really exhausting.
Not physically exhausting. It was more the kind of tiredness that happens in your head. When your mind feels crowded, there are too many things going on at once, and yet you don't really know how to put any of it into words. Somehow, this artist's music reached those quiet parts of me that I hadn't really thought about in a long time.
There was just something about the music that felt peaceful.
Whenever I listened to it, it felt a little like opening an old box of memories. Not just remembering something that happened, but almost feeling like I was there again for a moment. The atmosphere, the places, the feelings, even the little things I had completely forgotten about suddenly felt close again.
I've always been drawn to things that feel aesthetic, melancholic, and a little sentimental. Maybe that's why I find it so easy to get lost in music like this.
There was one song in particular that kept playing in my room throughout the night.
Its title is “If I Could Hear Your Voice Just One More Time.”
I really love this song.
It's hard to explain exactly what I like about it. It's not just the melody. It's the feeling that comes with it. It doesn't feel like the song is simply telling me a story. Instead, it somehow gives me space to create my own story inside it.
When I listen to songs like this, little scenes often start appearing in my head.
Maybe you've experienced that too.
It's almost like watching a movie that doesn't actually exist. Just random fragments playing in your imagination. A quiet place. Someone sitting alone. The light slowly changing. The wind moving through the air. And then, for some reason, one small moment feels more important than everything else.
I imagine those moments like fragments from an old movie, replayed in slow motion with beautiful, slightly melancholic cinematography.
And that's where this image came from.
In this image, the character is sitting alone in the middle of a huge field of flowers. It's beautiful, but at the same time, it feels strangely empty.
In front of them, two butterflies are flying away.
It's simple, really.
Just two butterflies leaving.
But for me, they can mean a lot of things.
They could be someone we once knew. They could be a memory. They could even represent the past slowly moving farther away, while a small part of us still wishes we could reach it.
The character doesn't chase them.
They just watch.
Maybe because there are some things in life that we simply can't hold on to. Some people have to leave. Some moments can never come back. And some voices eventually become something we can only hear inside our memories.
Maybe that's why the title of the song feels so personal to me.
If I could hear your voice just one more time.
Not to change anything.
Not to go back and relive everything.
Just to hear that voice one more time.
Sometimes I wonder if we really want to return to the past at all. Maybe what we actually miss is the feeling of being the person we were back then.
And maybe that's what this music does for me.
For a few minutes, it takes me somewhere else. It lets me sit quietly with old memories, look at things that have already passed, and then slowly brings me back to the present.
I don't know if this image completely captures what I feel when I listen to that song.
But maybe it doesn't have to.
Everyone sees something different in an image. Just like music, a single song can mean something completely different to each person who hears it.
For me, those two butterflies flying away are about something that was once close, and slowly became distant.
And I just sit there, watching them disappear.
Maybe some memories aren't meant to come back.
Maybe they are only meant to visit us once in a while, like a song playing quietly in the middle of the night,
and then disappear when the music ends.
