This is just a test to see what are the suitable conversion specs for DTube videos. People who upload raw footage or uncompressed videos make DTube servers struggle and waste lots of processing power that would have been used in other strategic and efficient tasks.
We all know that DTube is a very young platform and still has its limitations. I Guess we 'all' loved YouTube's 720/1080/2K or even 4K @ 60FPS videos. But what we fail to acknowledge is that Youtube didn't reach that level overnight. That's why we all, DTubers, have to work with what we have so far and have the obligation to help this platform reach that level of standard.
Of Course, the specs of any video depends on its content. In my quest for the best specs for audiobook and podcast videos, i found this as the best option (for now).
These are the specs for this test:
360P 16:9 resolution (that's 640x360 as opposed to 360P 4:3 which is 480x360)
Video codec: MPEG4 instead of H.264 (x265 anyone? xD)
Bitrate: I had it @1Kbps but the final video says (overall bitrate = 109Kbps)
frame rates: 12FPS since it's just one still image
Audio codec: this test uses MP3. If AAC or AC3 work great then let me know
Sample rate: 44100 Hz
Bitrate: 64 Kbps
I should mention that while uploading this test, DTube said that it's converting it to 480P even though the FAQ section says that converting videos to a higher resolution is pointless. I had it @360P considering people with limited internet bandwidth who want to listen to ~1h audiobooks without having to pause it and wait it to buffer.
With all this being said, Let Me know what you think in case i missed something or have to tweak it again. Peace <3
