Let's discuss and learn about the motivation behind the invention of Bitcoin.
Bitcoin was invented with the primary objective of creating a decentralized digital currency that would operate independently of any central authority or government. It was designed to address some of the limitations and drawbacks of traditional financial systems. There were so many modes of payments and currencies before bitcoin and they were doing quite well but suddenly we saw the Bitcoin baby born out of thin air. Why the inventors felt to create it and so anonymously?
The main motivations behind the invention of Bitcoin can be summarized as follows:
Decentralization: Bitcoin aimed to create a financial system that is not controlled by any central authority like banks or governments. It operates on a decentralized network called the blockchain, where transactions are verified and recorded by a network of participants known as miners. Anyone can become a miner without any qualifications. So it is not controlled by any central body.
Trust and Security: Bitcoin sought to establish a trustless system where participants could transact directly with each other without relying on intermediaries. The blockchain technology underlying Bitcoin ensures the security and immutability of transactions, making it difficult for fraudulent activities to take place.
Financial Inclusion: Bitcoin aimed to provide financial services to individuals who are unbanked or underbanked, especially in developing countries. With Bitcoin, anyone with an internet connection can access and use the digital currency, thereby enabling greater financial inclusion globally. Although it is for unbanked people but using it requires a lot of knowledge and security. People lose their funds if they mistakenly sent to any wrong addresses.
Privacy: Bitcoin offered a certain level of pseudonymity and privacy to its users. While transactions on the Bitcoin blockchain are public, the identities of the participants involved in those transactions are generally not disclosed unless voluntarily shared. This is the main reason it has become very popular among black market.
Limited Supply: Bitcoin was designed to have a limited supply of 21 million coins, which means it cannot be subject to arbitrary inflationary policies. This scarcity model is intended to preserve the value of Bitcoin over time. As tge time is passing, miners are facing a lot of difficulties in mining the bitcoin due to increased GPU power, high electricity bills. The bitcoin mining has very negative impact on environment.
Overall, Bitcoin was created to provide an alternative form of money that is secure, transparent, borderless, and independent of centralized control, offering individuals more control over their finances and potentially reshaping the global financial landscape.
