Who am I?

There are moments when I wonder why I’m even here. What’s the point of it all? Wouldn’t it be better to just disappear? To give the world a break from me, so it can catch its breath from one of those strange people who, on average, have little to offer, cause unnecessary chaos everywhere, are often just a burden, and contribute nothing of value.

Sometimes that’s exactly who I am, but fortunately, so far, it always dawns on me at the right moment that I do, after all, bring some value to the world around me and to the people I’m with - my family and friends. I’m capable of certain things; I can be kind and caring, but sometimes I’m just plain unbearable.

I don’t like noise, light, pressure, and touch all irritate me. These are the kinds of issues that cause constant overstimulation. Somehow, though, I have to live with this in a world full of city noise, shouting, the sounds of machines, and the lights of screens, streetlamps, and cars. It’s not easy to escape it, though I often feel like dropping it all, running away to a house on the edge of the forest, and living far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. That could be a pleasant life. Maybe someday?

This is rocket in my pocket - nice to meet you all.
