My wife was so lucky yesterday as our main gate suddenly fell down on her as she was opening them as we are about to leave. What happened was, she opened the gate as usual and wait at the end of the gate until I drove through and she will close them back. Hence, upon opening, the gate slid further without stopping which then fell on her.
The gate pressed on her and she was in pain. I was in the car when it happened and I quickly rushed out to her watching her under the gate. Her waist was against the gate and she cried in pain. I lift the heavy gate with all my might and told my son to pull her mother slowly away.
Even her phone which was in her pocker got broken due to the impact.
The gate was about 80 KG and that really concerned me a lot as it hit my wife quite hard. I thanked God nothing happened to her and my kids was not around her at that time too. She is okay but she sprained her ankle on both of her feet and making her hard to move. There were some bruises on her arm and her waist.
She uses cruches to help her move around. All in all, she is recovering and I will bring her for X-Ray scan once she can move easier a bit just to check all is okay.
I quickly called the person who made our gate and man, I really scolded him with his poor craftsmanship. He came first thing in the morning to fix the gate with better support.
Our house was just finished this year and there is a lot of things to do. But, I must ensure that accident like this won't happen ever again.
