If you keep up with football you know that a kicker is only as good as his last kick. And if he missed that one field goal then he is pretty much in the Coach's doghouse so to speak.
As a human being are we only as good as our worst version (or our last "bad kick") ??
One of my best friend's dad was a heck of a guy. Very generous and always very kind and warm to those around him. He died a number of years ago and what is the most memorable quality I have of him?? Telling racist jokes aimed at black people and using the N - word on numerous occasions.The thing is as good as he treated me I still will never forget these racist tirades he he went on. So my opinion to say the least is very mixed towards him and the Life he led. Very sad in so many ways :(
I argue with my wife about this notion...
She says my mantra of 'being only as good as your worst version is what people remember you by' is somewhat short sighted. She thinks that if she dies before me all I will remember about her is being a loving but somewhat nagging mate. I kindly remind her that when I talk about peoples' worst versions I am talking about extremes. Whether that be racist behavior,emotional and physical abuse, extreme manipulation, psychopathic tendencies etc...etc...
So I just want to clarify that !
Anyway, do you agree that a person in "some" instances can be only as good as their worst version of themselves ??
