Digital Portrait Speed Painting
This is my speed painting process video of my most recent portrait commission of a boy called Nassir based in Brighton, England.
I completed this portrait painting in Adobe Photoshop using a Wacom Intuos 3 (Old School)
It is a lengthy video, and I did actually lose some of the process right toward the end with the final details, but hopefully I have shown enough of the process here. I can always make a future video with a focus on final details.
I started off with a sketch, looking for the shapes and proportions first.
I then blocked in the solid colours with a hard round brush.
I then began painting in different shades and tones, keeping zoomed out as much as possible, and focusing on details towards the final few steps.
No colour picker tool used on the original photo.
