Over 1000 years ago this bridge was built by Sancho el Fuerte's wife. The main purpose was so pilgrims would not have to pay ferrymen huge fed to get across. Many accidents also happened in bad weather. A town grew around the bridge that goes by the same name. In an earlier post I had wrongly said this was a Roman built bridge. Today I got the real history of it. I was here about one year ago, and I am back today.
