After we had explored Bali and Flores, we wanted to see Java as well. The stupid thing was that we had booked the flights from Bali to Labuan Bajo in advance and with return flight, as we were not sure about the route back then. So we had two nights and a full day in Bali. Since the flight to Bali went in the afternoon, we rented a scooter and explored the area around Labuan Bajo in the morning. We discovered a couple of cool viewpoints and a nice, but unfortunately a bit littered beach. After a small snack we went to the airport and off to Canggu (with four hours delay).
Canggu is a hip and touristy but clearly more relaxed place than Kuta and perfect for surfing. We stayed there for two nights in the Canggu Beach Hostel and we would highly recommend it. A very clean and cheap hostel with a cool pool (including pool bar!) and perfect for meeting other backpackers.
In Canggu you can surf and relax on the beach. The beach is really beautiful with its black sand and the beach promenade invites you to eat and drink. We particularly liked the Cafe Bali, where you get an extremely cheap and incredibly delicious barbecue with salad buffet!
On our last day in Bali we hired a scooter and drove to the famous Tanah Lot. The location of the temple right at the cliffside is really beautiful, but this is one of Bali's most visited temples and very touristy. Since most of the visitors come to sunset we went there during the day. In our opinion you can visit the temple (if you are in the area you should visit it), but we would not take too much of a detour for it.
That was it so far with Bali, tomorrow we will finally go to Java for Mt. Bromo!

Nachdem wir nun Bali und Flores erkundet hatten, wollten wir uns als dritte Insel noch Java ansehen. Das dumme war nur, dass wir die Fl眉ge von Bali nach Labuan Bajo vorab und mit R眉ckflug gebucht hatten, da wir uns damals noch nicht ganz sicher 眉ber die Route waren. Also hatten wir noch zwei N盲chte und einen vollen Tag auf Bali. Da der Flug nach Bali erst am Nachmittag ging, haben wir uns noch einen Roller gemietet und die Gegend um Labuan Bajo erkundet. Wir haben ein paar coole Viewpoints und einen sch枚nen, aber leider auch etwas verm眉llten Strand entdeckt. Nach einem kleine Snack ging es dann schon Richtung Flughafen und ab nach Canggu (mit vier Stunden Versp盲tung).
Canggu ist ein hipper, touristischer aber deutlich entspannter Ort als Kuta und perfekt zum Surfen. Wir sind dort zwei N盲chte im etwas abseits gelegenen Canggu Beach Hostel geblieben und k枚nnen dies auch nur empfehlen. Sauberes und g眉nstiges Hostel mit einem coolen Pool (inklusive Poolbar!) und perfekt um andere Backpacker kennen zu lernen.
In Canggu kann man vor allem surfen und am Strand entspannen. Der Strand ist mit seinem schwarzen Sand wirklich sehr sch枚n und die Strandpromenade l盲d zum Essen und Trinken ein. Besonders gefallen hat uns das Cafe Bali, wo man ein extrem g眉nstiges und unglaublich leckeres Barbecue mit Salatbuffet bekommt!
An unserem letzten Tag in Bali haben wir einen Roller gemietet und sind zu dem ber眉hmten Tempel Tanah Lot gefahren. Die Lage des Tempels direkt am Wasser ist zwar wirklich sch枚n, allerdings ist dies einer der meist besuchtesten Tempel Balis und sehr touristisch. Da die meisten Besucher zum Sonnenuntergang kommen sind wir tags眉ber hin. Unserer Meinung nach kann man den Tempel besuchen (wenn man gerade in der Gegend ist sollte man ihn auch besuchen), wir w眉rden aber keinen allzu gro脽en Umweg daf眉r in Kauf nehmen.
Das war es so weit mit Bali, morgen geht es endlich nach Java zum Mt. Bromo!
