Drei Tage in Porto: Wanderung nach Ota, Strandtag & Anreise nach Corte 🏕️🥾🌊🚆
Tagebuch, 12.–14. September 2026 – Camping Porto, Korsika 🇫🇷
Samstag: Wanderung nach Ota 🥾
Nach unserer Ankunft in Porto am Freitag (wir fuhren mit der Fähre, siehe Teil 2) haben erstmal ausgeschlafen in unserem Zelt auf dem Campingplatz in Porto. 😊
Dann sind wir gemütlich mit dem Rucksack zum nächsten Ort Ota gewandert, der in den Bergen liegt. Das hat einen guten Grund: Wir wissen gerne, wie die Strecke zurück ist! Nach unserer fünftägigen Tour, die jetzt vor uns liegt, werden wir in Ota ankommen – dann können wir entscheiden, ob wir mit dem Bus zum Auto fahren oder zu Fuß hinuntergehen.
Gegen Mittag sind wir bei Sonnenschein und über 30 Grad gestartet – die rund 350 Höhenmeter hinauf. Der Weg war ein bisschen dornig und nicht ganz so gut gekennzeichnet, aber wir sind doch ganz gut in Ota angekommen. Ein schönes, kleines Dörfchen in den Bergen von Korsika! Dort haben wir unser Picknick gemacht: Kekse und Wasser. 😄
Danach sind wir wieder zurückgewandert und waren pünktlich zum Dunkelwerden am Campingplatz in Porto. In der Nacht haben wir dann richtig gut geschlafen. 😴
Sonntag: Porto Marina & Strandtag 🌊
Am nächsten Morgen, nach dem langen Ausschlafen, sind wir zur Porto Marina runtergezogen – ein kleines, sehr touristisches Viertel an der Bucht zum Meer. Wir haben erstmal geguckt, was da alles los ist: Es gibt Boote zum Mieten, und allerlei Touristenprogramm.
Danach sind wir an den Strand gegangen, haben uns hingesetzt und einfach das Meer genossen. Das Wetter war super angenehm, die Meerestemperatur klasse – wir sind geschwommen und haben gelesen. Ich habe in meinem Buch „Thinking in Systems“ von Donella Meadows weitergelesen – sehr spannend, dazu will ich später noch was schreiben! 📖
Abends sind wir zurück zu unserem Zelt gegangen, haben Ravioli gekocht und sind früh und müde ins Bett gefallen. 😄
Montag: Aufbruch, Bus & Zug nach Corte 🚆
Heute Morgen haben wir das Auto am Campingplatz in Porto geparkt und sind mit dem Bus nach Ajaccio gefahren. Von Ajaccio ging es mit dem Zug weiter nach Corte, wo wir jetzt angekommen sind. Die Zugfahrt durchs korsische Inselinnere ist ein Erlebnis für sich!
Unterwegs sind wir an einem noch rauchenden Waldbrand vorbeigekommen 😔
Heute Morgen im Bus haben wir eine junge Frau aus Köln kennengelernt, die ebenfalls mit uns eingestiegen ist. Sie macht hier auch eine Trekking- und Wandertour und ist völlig entspannt – sie traut sich sogar, mit Leuten zu trampen. Das hat uns doch ein bisschen beruhigt, denn wir sind etwas nervös und haben großen Respekt vor dem, was vor uns liegt 😊
Hier in Corte haben wir ein Hotel – das Hotel de la Paix – und werden dort übernachten, um morgen die Tour zurück zum Campingplatz nach Porto zu starten. Gerade (früher Nachmittag) machen wir noch Pause an einem Fluss, der durch Corte fließt, und kühlen uns die Füße. Es wird eine Tour über mehrere Tage – eine, die wir noch nie gemacht haben. Wir sind sehr gespannt und haben großen Respekt! 💪
Three Days in Porto: Hike to Ota, Beach Day & Journey to Corte 🏕️🥾🌊🚆
Diary, Sep 12–14, 2026 – Camping Porto, Corsica 🇫🇷
After arriving in Porto on Friday, things got going properly on Saturday. We slept in first, in our tent at the campsite in Porto – camping life has us firmly in its grip. 😊
Saturday: Hike to Ota 🥾
Then we leisurely hiked with our backpacks to the next village, Ota, which lies up in the mountains. There's a good reason for that: we like to know the way back! After our five-day tour, which lies ahead of us now, we will arrive in Ota – then we can decide whether to take the bus back to the car or walk down.
We started around noon in sunshine and over 30 degrees – about 600 metres of elevation gain. The path was a bit thorny and not very well marked, but we still made it to Ota quite well. A lovely little village in the mountains of Corsica! We had our picnic there: biscuits and water. 😄
Afterwards we hiked back and arrived at the campsite in Porto just before dark. We slept really well that night. 😴
Sunday: Porto Marina & Beach Day 🌊
The next morning, after a long sleep-in, we headed down to Porto Marina – a small, very touristic quarter on the bay by the sea. First we had a look at what's going on: there are boats to rent and all sorts of tourist activities.
Then we went to the beach, sat down and simply enjoyed the sea. The weather was lovely, the water temperature great – we went swimming and did some reading. I continued reading my book "Thinking in Systems" by Donella Meadows – very exciting, I want to write more about it later! 📖
In the evening we went back to our tent, cooked ravioli and fell into bed early and tired. 😄
Monday: Departure, Bus & Train to Corte 🚆
This morning we parked the car at the campsite in Porto and took the bus to Ajaccio. From Ajaccio we continued by train to Corte, where we have now arrived. The train ride through the mountainous interior of Corsica is an experience in itself!
On the way we passed a still smoking forest fire – an impressive yet thought-provoking sight. 😔
This morning on the bus we met a young woman from Cologne who got on with us. She is also doing a trekking and hiking tour here and is totally relaxed – she even dares to camp with other people. That calmed us down a bit, because we are a little nervous and have great respect for what lies ahead. We want to take it a bit more easy. 😊
Here in Corte we have a hotel – the Hotel de la Paix – where we will stay, before starting the tour back to the campsite in Porto tomorrow. In the evening we are taking a break at a river flowing through Corte, cooling our feet. It will be a tour stretched over several days – one we have never done before. We are very excited and full of respect! 💪
