  • The largest tomb in Greece.
    The tomb in Amphipolis became one of the main archaeological newsmakers of the summer and autumn. In the construction they see the hand of Deinocrates, the chief architect of Alexander the Great. It is believed that someone from the people close to the king was buried in it: a military commander or a relative. It consists of three chambers, decorated with mosaics, paintings and sculptures.

  • Flooded Byzantine temple.

100 miles from Istanbul, at the bottom of Lake Iznik found a previously unknown Byzantine basilica. It dates from the 5th century AD. and was located near Nicaea - a large ancient city and Christian center. The temple was at a depth of about two meters, at a distance of about twenty-five meters from the shore, but was discovered only in 2014, using aerial photography.
