My preferred frontend to access Hive content has been #leothreads for the past one month (almost). Leothreads launched on February 14 and there is not a day that I have not created threads and engaged with other hivers. I find it fascinating that this blockchain has a microblogging platform with users flocking in regularly. Sharing short form content is the easiest content creation you can do in Hive. And, you are earning $leo $hive and $gosh by being active on leothreads.

Despite all the good things I shared about leothreads, the platform is not getting enough from the regular hivers who are active on twitter and discord. What could be the reason?

The New Features

The platform has come a long way since the day it was launched a month ago. We have nested conversations, search functionality, immutable polls, bookmarking options and many others. Many other features such as sorting and filtering are being planned to launch pretty soon.

I get the point that these features are not groundbreaking (some of them are :)) creations but this is happening in the microblogging platform. We have other amazing Hive frontends but leothreads is trying to capture the masses that are not on Hive yet.

Thread Explosion

The number of threads exploded in the first few weeks and then stabilized at around 1500-2000 threads per day in the last two weeks. It was expected but the positive side of thread numbers lies in the fact that there are many new uses firing those threads.

The platform saw 100% increase the monthly active users. I saw a graph @leogrowth shared where it was mentioned that there were 1000 MAUs in February. The number will go higher for sure in March given the launch of new features.

The crew3 campaign will start afresh on March 15. That’s the vehicle the @Leofinance team is using to market the product within and outside of Hive. @anomandsoul MR BOSS is campaigning.

Amidst all the positive movements, marketing campaigns and high flying numbers we are missing one key piece.

Where are all the OGs and Lions?

We have so many front runners and leaders on Hive and Leofinance. They have a significant stake in Hive and have been a part of the ecosystem for a very long time in crypto years. All lions and the original big accounts have reputation and influence in the ecosystem. Users follow them and listen to their advice although you should not listen to anyone without DYOR. But, the hivers with reputation are the best source of influence in the ecosystem.

Well,

Do we all want the Hive ecosystem to moon? YES

Do we all think Hive is the best blockchain out there? YES

Do we think this is the best decentralized chain to develop and engage socially? YES

If YES is the answer to all these questions then why are we not threading yet?

Granted there are bugs and shortcomings and there are fewer features than expected but this is the first app that is trying to solve the limitless micro blogging experience on Hive. Engagements on threads with other users by OGs go a long way. If we only put 5% of the effort we are putting on Twitter, threads is golden.
