A writer's block?
Being lazy? No topic to talk about? Not have enough time?
Don't ask me why I did not post for the last 8 days. I know I can write about anything and everything under the sun in the world where we have news everywhere. Still, I did not muster courage to sit down and pour my thoughts.
That changed when the leaderboard on hive engagement league came out this afternoon. I managed to score the top 5 position and I am glad I did.
While scrolling through the leaderboard, I noticed a pattern like @anomadsoul noticed on this thread. There are many threaders who are on the top 10 list. That shows how Leothreads is quickly becoming an epicenter of engagement on Hive.
Six out of top 10 positions is captured by fellow threaders. Taskmaster may not have registered, otherwise he will be top on the leaderboard for sure. i want to share two reflections:
Threads can truly generate engagement that we lack on $HIVE
I have been here on Hive for three years. From day one, I have been hearing ideas on how to generate meaningful engagements where we have organic conversations on the platform. I remember days when generating 50 comments per day was considered a win. Even the trending posts had fewer than 3 comments.
The optics was not great when it comes to engagement and genuine interaction.
We now have Leothreads and the engagement is off the roof. It is partly fueled by the zealy campaign @leogorowth is leading and partly because $hive people are willing to test out the new beta app launched on May 1.
It does not matter what the reasons are. The engagement is through the roof as more and more users are testing out the new waters. I think there are fluffy comments and random link posting on threads which is expected and not out of ordinary. Compared to that look at the number of genuine conversations we are having and how fast the timeline has become.
I considered that a short term win. With 24K threads a week, I am pretty optimistic
There is a huge potential if Threads team executes right
What is this pointing to? This initial success in terms of engagement has give n the team a nice platform to bounce from.
We already know that Khal and Eric are already planning what will come next for the project as they are predicting 5K MAUs by end of the year. The need here is to tap on the user base by developing a truly unique web3 platform. There are many things to iron out and there could be many other features to work on. The initial reaction is to make sure the interest shown by users is not waning down as the time progresses.
I am a user on threads. I see so much potential and I also see so many features that could be improved. I am sticking with the platform for good. I do not have solutions to provide other than my feedback but I hope the team has plans to capture the craze even after the campaign is closed.
Look at this table from @anomadsoul. There are 194 users with one thread in the last 7 days. How do we lure them back in to create at least 5 threads a day? That should be the plan.
What do you all think? Are you threading like crazy?
