In Portugal summer demands beach. Coastal cities double the number of people due to tourism. Interior cities experience the opposite trend.
However, people who stay still need and deserve some fun. Fortunately, municipalities are aware of this reality and work hard to keep the cities busy and happy. Cultural events are promoted and there's a lot happening during the hot summer nights.
Live music in the squares is a winner. People gather and enjoy good music, bars and terraces are open till late.
I value this events even more because in winter I miss them!
