People seem to pursue a life with impact, whatever that is. Sure I feel better when I feel useful and helpful. That can be around the house, in my village, in my group of friends, in my country, at work, in my multinational company, worldwide!!! It's good and healthy to have high expectations and the will to make a difference. However, this should come with a safety mechanism, an anti-frustration system, that automatically activates when the complexity of the world and the circumstances of life make us fail and feel small. Do no give up on great achievements, but sometimes we just have to do the right thing, be proud and enjoy the ride.
