A new poster was released of "The Nun" showing us the creepy, soul snatching demon, Valak.
The Conjuring universe that was kicked off by James Wan has added a new spin off to add more horror to the mix. Introduced in The Conjuring 2, Valak, now has her own origin movie thanks to the impact she had on The Conjuring 2. "The Nun" is being directed by Corin Hardy, who also directed The Hallow's.
Set in the 1950's Romania, the fifth installment of the universe brings us back to retro themed horror that has blanketed this universe. “The period and the setting and the scope of it hark back to really classic, old-school, scarlet-blooded horror films,” Hardy tells Empire. “And I loved that the story was a character-driven mystery as well as a scary horror movie.”
The lead actress Taissa Farmiga, is actually the younger sister of the lead actress in both Conjurings. This could possibly play into her work being chosen from a higher power, since she is able to enter different realities to see what these curses are.
