Espero que ayer hayan podido disfrutar de un hermoso tiempo en familia, riendo mucho y comiendo rico. En casa este a帽o pens谩bamos ir a casa de mis suegros, pero las cosas no siempre resultan como las planeamos y desde la semana pasada comenzaron con una gripe muy fuerte Mat铆as, mi esposo y finalmente Miranda quien fue la 煤ltima en caer y se complic贸 con el asma, as铆 que por supuesto esos planes se tuvieron que cancelar porque la salud de ella es prioridad, y nos toc贸 ajustarnos y organizarnos digamos que casi a 煤ltima hora, sin embargo todo result贸 muy muy bien cosa que siempre ser谩 as铆 mientras estemos juntos.

I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful time with your families yesterday, laughing a lot and eating delicious food. This year, we were planning to go to my in-laws' house, but things don't always turn out as we plan, and last week Mat铆as, my husband, came down with a bad case of the flu, followed by Miranda, who was the last to fall ill and had complications with her asthma. So, of course, those plans had to be canceled because her health is a priority, and we had to adjust and organize ourselves at the last minute, so to speak. However, everything turned out very well, which will always be the case as long as we are together.
Miranda comenz贸 el jueves pasado con congesti贸n nasal nada m谩s, pero ya para el s谩bado comenz贸 la tos, y el domingo tuvo que comenzar a usar el inhalador y ya ah铆 supimos que tendr铆amos que cancelar los planes porque a煤n cuando mejorara, salir de noche con ella a casa de mis suegros que viven pr谩cticamente frente a la playa era algo que definitivamente no har铆amos, as铆 que nos toc贸 organizar la cena, y por dicha ya ten铆amos las hallacas as铆 que lo m谩s complicado estaba listo.
Para completar la cena, el martes dej茅 marinando un pollo durante toda la noche con mi aderezo especial para el pernil, que fue horneado ayer, adem谩s preparamos la ensalada, y en lugar del pan de jam贸n probamos con una version tipo enrollado individual que vi un tiempo atr谩s en un reel de Instagram que por cierto qued贸 brutal.
Miranda started last Thursday with nothing more than a stuffy nose, but by Saturday she had started coughing, and on Sunday she had to start using her inhaler. At that point, we knew we would have to cancel our plans because even if she got better, going out at night with her to my in-laws' house, which is practically on the beach, was definitely not going to happen. So we had to organize dinner, and luckily we already had the hallacas, so the most complicated part was done.
To complete the dinner, on Tuesday I marinated a chicken overnight with my special seasoning for pork leg, which was baked yesterday. We also prepared the salad, and instead of ham bread, we tried an individual roll version that I saw a while back on an Instagram reel, which, by the way, turned out amazing.
Adem谩s junto con los ni帽os preparamos galletitas de santa para tener algo dulce en el men煤, y para mi esposo y para m铆 prepar茅 tinto de verano, y ya a las 8 de la noche estabamos listos para cenar y agradecer por la provisi贸n de Dios un a帽o m谩s, por estar los 4 en la misma mesa y por tener salud.
Fue un momento bastante especial porque siempre recordamos navidades pasadas, nos re铆mos un mont贸n y por supuesto que comemos deli deli, y confieso que comimos tanto que luego solo quer铆a ir a mi camita a dormir, pero nooo, ven铆a la mejor parte, las tradicionales fotitos en el 谩rbol de navidad que este a帽o fueron un poco ca贸ticas porque como reciente fan de los k-dramas (gracias Miranda!), quer铆a que los chicos hicieran algunas poses de las que se ven en este mundo, pero mis hijos son los menos colaboradores y todo fue risas y alboroto, tanto alboroto que hoy mirando las fotos me di cuenta que no tengo ni una sola con Miranda ni con ellos dos juntos, as铆 que ya ser谩 para el 31.
In addition, together with the children, we prepared Santa cookies (@rlathulerie/galletas-de-santasantas-cookies) to have something sweet on the menu, and for my husband and me, I prepared summer red wine. and by 8 p.m. we were ready to have dinner and give thanks for God's provision for another year, for the four of us being at the same table, and for our health.
It was a very special moment because we always remember past Christmases, we laughed a lot, and of course we ate delicious food. I confess that we ate so much that afterwards I just wanted to go to bed, but nooo, the best part was yet to come: the traditional photos by the Christmas tree, which this year were a bit chaotic because, as a recent fan of K-dramas (thanks, Miranda!), I wanted the kids to strike some poses that you see in that world, but my kids are the least cooperative, and it was all laughter and commotion, so much commotion that today, looking at the photos, I realized that I don't have a single one with Miranda or with the two of them together, so it will have to wait until the 31st.
Al terminar con las fotos todos corrimos de inmediato a cambiarnos de ropa porque en serio comimos demasiado, y nuestro plan era acostarnos c贸modamente a ver juntos la 5ta temporada de Stranger Things, pero pasaron cosas y cerca de las 11:00 p.m. Jos茅 y yo nos est谩bamos durmiendo, por lo que decidimos dejar la serie para hoy y acostarnos a descansar. Si si, ya los a帽os pegan 馃ぃ馃ぃ
En fin, este a帽o no hubo visita a los abuelos ni juegos de mesa, pero sin dudas fue un d铆a muy especial, lleno de risas de complicidad, de compartir juntos y disfrutar de comida s煤per deli y espero que cada uno de ustedes tambi茅n haya tenido una noche memorable.

When we finished taking photos, we all rushed to change our clothes because we had eaten way too much, and our plan was to lie down comfortably and watch the fifth season of Stranger Things together, but things happened and around 11:00 p.m. Jos茅 and I were falling asleep, so we decided to leave the series for today and go to bed. Yes, yes, the years are catching up with us 馃ぃ馃ぃ
Anyway, this year there was no visit to the grandparents or board games, but it was undoubtedly a very special day, full of laughter, sharing together, and enjoying delicious food, and I hope that each of you also had a memorable night.
