We all start somewhere, whether it be our "lavishly impulsive" lifestyle choices or the first step towards a minimalistic lifestyle.

If I have to talk about myself and the beginning of my minimalistic journey, then I'll have to say that it's been quite a while. From the many experiences and events over the years, it's really tough to pick out a day and date where I was at the crossroads; one where I decided to take the very simple and minimal path ahead.

For me it was more of a process, a process of slowly building a habit, to adapt and attune myself to a life full of ups and downs, a life full of uncertainty. Embracing a minimalistic lifestyle, relying on the bare minimum, were the only options I had from time to time, and to be honest, I'm glad it turned out that way.

And I guess that is exactly why I look for balance, no matter where I go or what I do, balance will always be numero uno. It really doesn't take much to be truly happy in life.

Yet, whether there were difficulties or not, I still managed to spend my time and resources on some very unnecessary things, quite early on.

Yes, I was quite young back then, probably in my early teens, and we were "allowed" to make mistakes and to be fairly reckless at that age; yet, I still do sometimes regret a lot of my past decisions from back then. The way I splurged the money I made back then, it was just unnecessary, all spent on things that are temporary and would never make a difference.

Even though that lifestyle was short-lived; the thing that stuck was the grind mindset, the hustler that was born. The difference was that back then I was hustling to make money just to waste it.

Fortunately, soon after I began to realize that these things really meant nothing, all this material and all the collection of fancy gizmos, it was all just a damn loop. That made me realize, that my purpose isn't here, my goal was something different. Even though I still don't know what my purpose and goal in life really is, the plan for now is to accumulate, build and grow, try my best at least, and then see where it all takes us. While also maintaining a low-key and minimalistic lifestyle, as I progress ahead.

Along the way I did face some hurdles, obstacles that ended up pushing me off track, for which my learning and accumulation process was hindered. It was around 2015 when I experienced that little "downfall" of mine; because of serious health issues I had to take some time off from the grind.

And when I had recovered, it was time to start over again, because every little thing and every relation that was built before the downfall, everything and everyone went their separate ways. We did gain some ground soon enough, with our little startup, the one I talked about in one of my previous posts. Sadly, as many of you know, that little startup of ours ended up failing too.

Alas, soon enough I starting rolling solo. Making a habit out of my minimalistic choices, investing in myself and my growth, while also trying my best to build up a network full of like-mined people, the type of people who in some measure, share the same minimalistic ideology.

For now, sacrifices have to made, and compromise is necessary...
