What is freedom?
For some, it's the ability to speak their mind without having to fear suppression or oppression. For a few, it's just being financially able to afford a nice and luxurious holiday, probably in the mountains or by the beach. For many, it's being able to walk safely on the side of streets, no matter how late it may be, and not having to worry about getting robbed.
Even freedom is subjective...
Freedom is the result of geography and the circumstances of a country or person. A person in the USA would just like to convey their thoughts, a message may be, and would appreciate it if there were no repercussions because of it; possibly from another individual or party who sees things from a different perspective. Freedom of speech they call it. Whereas in a country, probably a third-world country, ruled by a tyrant, one has to make sure that when they speak, they don't cross a certain limit, or at least make sure that the message doesn't reach the "people in power". Because there's a looming risk of being abducted, tortured, and even killed, simply for speaking the truth, or just because they have a contrarian method to a certain problem.
Who is capable of such oppression? Over here it is, or was, the head of state and government, and the gutless "protectors" of the country, who must do as they're told, to simply earn their monthly wage.

The second type of freedom I mentioned isn't a myth or fable, it's the reality we've been living for close to two decades here in Bangladesh. Governed by megalomaniacs, hungry for power, money, and control. No matter how much they need to suppress, imprison, kill, or lie, they'll do it, just to maintain power, and to keep looting; while maintaining a fake image internationally.
When does it end?
When it comes to such venal people, it never ends. It's never enough!
Until...
The people have had enough, and understand that unity is power!
Just less than a month ago, not many people dared to oppose the tyrants. Yet, here we are now. A fearless generation, with the help and support of a few ethical people from the older generation, has toppled the so-called "omnipotent" party that has stripped the country of its resources and freedom of speech; by spilling an immeasurable amount of blood of the innocent and the brave.
This freedom we have now, for this second independence of ours, we had to pay a price. Just like the first independence, the young and the fearless stood united, against tyranny and injustice. People truly believe that this is the generation that can do justice to the word we know as "democracy".
This movement made us all realize, that all along, for almost two decades, we were living under the counsel of a bunch of megalomaniacs and prowlers.
Now, as we consider ourselves free, hope has naturally been instilled into everyone's lives; yet, we still have a long way to go. We have to reconstruct the country, mend our ways, and get rid of all the pollution and corruption that has built up in the past two to three decades.
Yes, I believe with the older problems gone, newer problems will arise. It is an inescapable reality and undeniable fact.
However, we can always strive for excellence, while knowing that...
the pursuit of perfection is a fool's errand.
Nevertheless, I believe that as long as the people are united and hopeful, we will unquestionably see, live, and leave, a better tomorrow and nation.
