When we were kids our dreams were limitless, unbounded, we believed anything and everything was possible. And ABSOLUTELY NO ONE was capable of convincing us into believing in something that went against our dreams; whether it be true or untrue.
Kids are adamant, because they're not used to hearing the word "NO", they're told that they "can be anything" or "have anything their heart desires".
Alas, adulthood is a whole different story; an abrupt horror story of some sorts, one that creeps up on you. Even the so called adults aren't brave enough to tell these kids about it. From a distance of 2 decades or so it may look wonderful, but as you keep getting closer, the beauty of it all slowly fades away, and it does not look or feel as "dreamy" anymore.
Well, at least we some have control over our dreams, in real life most of it isn't always in our hands.

If anyone says that they've never dreamed of having a big house full of the things they love, probably even living with the ones they love, then they'd simply be lying.
In the beginning all our dreams are of the same scale, we dream big. It's when life gets rough and tough, we realize that our dreams may have been a bit too good to be true. Whether you find out that minimalism is what you truly seek, or that living big requires too much of an effort and sacrifice, and compromises have to be made.
One day, all of a sudden, you understand that you simply can't have it all, not all at once at least.
I've never had a huge list of wants, the simple stuff always got the job done. Unless we're talking about light-up sneakers with those LED lights below, those were F*CKING dope, my 5 year old self surely approves lol.
I never liked the houses with a ton of flashy furniture and decor, clothing of vibrant colors and too much bling always looked "tacky", or maybe I'm just not brave enough to pull it off?
Dark solid colors, minimally designed furniture and snug little home, nothing beats it. Even my PC doesn't have RGB, never did, one solid "darkish" color is what I prefer. The cars I like are low-key and the sleeper type, I prefer 0 bling on my watches and I like to stay fairly "incognito", because the evil eye is a thing. It's nothing superstitious, it's a fact here, and people despise it when they see other people having a good time and living a good life. Some low-lifes will go as far to inflict the damage themselves, or through a shady source or medium.
So, keep the good news to yourself, and only talk about it with the ones who really care. Also, get rid of the unnecessary people from your life, create some distance at least.
I did have "bigger dreams", but over the years I realized that those dream weren't really mine. It was more of an influence from the ones around me, the useless suggestions of society.
I believe now I know what I truly want. As I keep finding myself and my purpose, I just wanna make a bit of money, keep my family from harm's way. While also providing for the ones who need it more than me. Then one day, hopefully I'll travel the world when I'm capable and "free" enough.
Those dreams of big parties, big groups, boats, cars and mansions are gone. I'm alive right now because I lived a simple life, away from all the commotion and grime, and I believe that's what I'll stick to for the rest of my life.
I'm just keeping it simple.
