Let us get to know Midjourney AI Art, shall we ?
A lot of people start mentioning the Midjourney since I am starting to post AI generated Art and believe me when I told you that I have actually tried it at one point and stop with reasons which I will mention in my writing below.

Midjourney (midjourney.com) is an independent research lab exploring new mediums of thought and expanding the imaginative powers of the human species.
Google midjourney.com will bring you to this page below:

To join you will click

and the link will direct you to a Discord group with a welcome message as shown below:

Be sure to read the the Quick Start Guide https://midjourney.gitbook.io/docs/ and more details on the official Midjourney Discord Server in the #rules, #faq, #announcements and #status channels before you tripped on any legalities or code of conduct.

Quick Start Guide also tell you where and how to create your image and yes, you can start creating limited number of images before needing to subscribe for plans.

Standard Plans

Enterprise Plans

Remember to read the FAQ section before you make decision on the plans and ask question #support Channel in Discord group if you are still unsure.

*I do not know about what others do with their creations, but I have plan to use the art I created to produce portfolio and collection for NFT, which might not work if I use Midjourney. *

The sign (**) means you need to read the fine prints at least 3 times and know your way around the legal land mines carefully, since what works and whatnot are not very consistent and up to interpretation.
Also check out #rules channel in Discord, especially "Your Rights" with the 3 exceptions rule for licenses, from the Copyright and Trademark part and also please note: Midjourney is an open community which allows others to use and remix your images and prompts whenever they are posted in a public setting. By default, your images are publically viewable and remixable. As described above, you grant Midjourney a license to allow this. If you purchase a private plan, you may bypass some of these public sharing defaults. So you still need to remember to use /private if you are doing trial in the discord if you are using the result for private and/or commercial use personally.

More detail information can be found in Midjourney Documentation https://midjourney.gitbook.io/docs/

My own experience:

  • Midjourney can create magnificent artworks as detailed or vague as you want and sometimes may surprise you or not.
  • Midjourney is quite easy if you are familiar with Discord or otherwise, it can be hell to track down your own generated art. So, please try the Discord before you subscribed.
  • Midjourney default is public until it is being set otherwise.
  • Once again, do all this " get-to-know-you" before you subscribe to any plan. Easier and simpler to upgrade than to downgrade.
