A Closer Look at the Remarkable Physical Characteristics of a Beautiful Bee
Good night to all my beloved hive friends 鈾ワ笍
Introducing a sweat bee from the Halictidae family. I usually find these tiny bees perched on small branches in groups, although according to several sources, they are actually solitary bees. They are also among the smallest types of bees. Out of several bees I found there, I only managed to photograph one that was still perched on the branch. Photographing it was also very challenging because of its extremely small size and the fact that it kept moving around.
From a close distance, we can clearly observe every structure of this bee's body, from its head to its abdomen. This bee has a proportionally shaped head, equipped with two large compound eyes that are deep black in color. Meanwhile, its abdomen has an elongated oval shape, featuring segmented lines with a dark brownish-black coloration.
Almost the entire body of this bee is also covered with thick, fine hairs, and these are the hidden beauties that hold countless wonders. Now, let's take a look at the beauty of this bee from the front, revealing its two large compound eyes. Photographing it from the front is the most challenging part.
In my opinion, this is one of the bee species with a cute and adorable appearance. Besides that, they are also very hardworking and beneficial generalist pollinators. They are not pests to farmers either, so their presence is not a threat but rather a blessing.
This little bee also has a relatively stable population in my area, and we can still easily find it in plantations filled with wildflowers. They are usually very active in the afternoon, making it the best time to spot them. The most satisfying part is that I managed to photograph it from various different angles, even from an extremely close distance.
But a bee is still a bee. Even though it has a cute appearance, we should never touch it directly because this bee can also sting when it feels threatened.
