So how do you start?? You just finished photography school, or even just taken a few courses – how would you know you are good enough to start asking for money? Morgan talks from his experience about ways to make photography your livelihood – it might sound scary but his tips are actually pretty straightforward.
So what do you need to start? you will need equipment – but as Morgan points out – not too much – just a camera and a lens (and a computer of course) and you can more or less start working – you don’t need the best camera around – people make money shooting with older – sometime even second hand gear – so don’t think you have to spend lots of money even before you begin. Start creating as many pictures as you can for the people around you – do it for free at the beginning – when you feel you are ready you will be able to start asking for money. When you have enough good images create a portfolio – our advice – try to create a unique look – something that will make your images recognizable so that people looking at them will immediately see you in the images.
