It's so incredible how I can walk a line along a beach I've been to many times before and not notice particularly things. Even the way the light hits it can transform it, and what I focus on changes how I experience it. This mornings walk was aglow with orange. Dawn is my favourite time to walk, not least because there's not as many people around.
Everything was orange today. The seaglass, brown, sparkled tangerine in the sunshine. The cliffs too glowed like magic. I never noticed the line of chalk in the image on the right below.
This one was a wierd one. I just couldn't wrap my head around it. Of course jamie noticed the old school aggregrate around it and realised it was a rusty pole of some description. Why it was there, I don't know. It looks like a calcified mussel or a goblet of fire.
Then there was the new steps cut out of the clay. It's pretty slippery around that headland and someone had taken the time to cut some steps. Look at my cold, winter white feet, haha!
These steps look older and are cut from firmer rock. I don't know if they are new or not - maybe? I just cant recall seeing them. Maybe I went round the headland a different way each time, never up the steps.
The volcanic rocks are so bizarre. It's like a volcano flung them at there they have stood for eternity. They'd make cool garden rocks but I dont think anyone could lift them anywhere! The bubbles in them bring ancient geology to vivid life.
Actual life was painted in yellow on this rock - it's a kind of lichen.
And of course you have the beauty of the sea wall. It's so photogenic!
I often walk in barefeet, even in winter. I'm not brave enough to swim in freezing water yet - I did put on my wetsuit for a swim as there wasn't any surf, but no way could I have done it in bathers!
Hope you enjoyed my Wednesday Walk!
With Love,
