Your photos are great! Did you use portrait mode on your phone? That's what I've been doing and it makes for some nicer gardening shots, especially focussing on the plant/fruit! 35 degrees can wilt plants in a day, let alone 3 - shadecloth can help at a pinch or getting your neighbours to water. Keep persisting - it's obvious you get enjoyment out of it!
