I am starting to believe that idealizing the retirement days is very dangerous as it can prevent someone to truly live their life in the present moment.

OH MY GOD< nailed it. This retirement security bullshit is a ploy to keep us all working and feeding the system, and means we don't look after our elderly as they have worked all life to look after themselves - horrible individualism.
