The more I read about him (admittedly not as much as you) the more I dislike him. His views certainly aren't moderate, and there's some about women, children and gender that I find a bit off (that's my feminist side recoiling). I can see it'd be a reaction to threats of censorship and control which makes sense. What gets me is how the rich and powerful don't know when to stop. Fuck me, what is 'enough'? Men like him and Trump, Jesus, retire and live a nice life in the country side or something.
These days we sugarcoat hate speech as free speech
It's refreshing to hear someone say it here on Hive. I often read critiques that argue ANY kind of ban on people's views, no matter how extreme, is an affront to our liberties without any kind of concession that such speech - especially on public platforms where it gathers so much traction - limits other people's freedoms. I do hope we are at the beginning of the downfall of the influence of such platforms - certainly in Australia they are starting to look at what can be done to get them to take accountability. We do have a labour (left, socialist though not extremely so - centre is where it's at these days) government that's trying to push banning under 14 yo from accessing social media.
