Un día como cualquier otro, estaba en mi casa sin hacer nada, para ser más exactos. Luego de eso, me llama mi mejor amiga y me dice que ha encontrado un trabajo en el cual yo podría servir de mucho. Al principio pensé que estaba jugando, pues en otras ocasiones ella me había incitado a trabajar, cosa que no había hecho por falta de tiempo, por los estudios o porque, simplemente, no había llegado la oportunidad. Le pregunto y le digo: "A ver, cuéntame todos los detalles y dime cómo va a ser este trabajo". Ella me dice que el jefe de un negocio con el cual ella se lleva bien andaba buscando personal, pues se le iba a ir uno de sus trabajadores. Le dije: "Está bien, pásame el contacto y veremos qué pasa".
Cuando empecé a conversar con el jefe de ese trabajo, me dijo que fuera allá para hacerme la entrevista y ver si daba la talla o podía trabajar ahí. Luego de un par de minutos conversando y de hacerme varias preguntas, se quedó muy satisfecho conmigo y me dijo: "Okay, empiezas dentro de dos días, pero tienes que venir mañana y tienes que trabajar hoy para que vayas cogiendo el adiestramiento". Yo, sin ningún problema, le dije: "Okay, hagámoslo, pues no hay nada que perder".
Pasados estos dos días, todo me fue de maravilla; incluso hasta propina me dejaron en mis dos primeros días de trabajo no oficiales. Todo comenzó un miércoles, porque de lunes a martes se descansa y se trabaja de miércoles a domingo (y los días de adiestramiento fueron sábado y domingo). Ya el miércoles empecé a trabajar con todas las de la ley, con una gran responsabilidad y carga encima.
Hasta ahora me ha ido muy bien. He tenido mis tropiezos, como cualquier ser humano que se equivoca, aprende y corrige, pero gracias al Señor que me ve desde los cielos, he ganado mi propio dinero y estoy siendo mi propio jefe.
Hago un comunicado para todas las personas que por ciertos motivos no han podido trabajar: chicos, es lo mejor que pueden hacer. Así no tendrían que pedirle nunca nada a nadie y podrán ser libres de hacer lo que quieran.

One day like any other, I was at home doing nothing, to be exact. Right after that, my best friend called me and told me she had found a job where I could be very useful. At first, I thought she was joking, as on other occasions she had encouraged me to work—something I hadn't done due to a lack of time, my studies, or simply because the right opportunity hadn't come along. I asked her, "Let's see, tell me all the details and what this job is going to be like." She told me that the boss of a business she gets along with was looking for staff because one of his workers was leaving. I said, "Alright, give me the contact info and we'll see what happens."
When I started talking to the boss of that job, he told me to go over there for a job interview to see if I was a good fit or if I could work there. After a couple of minutes of talking and him asking me several questions, he was very satisfied with me and said, "Okay, you start in two days, but you have to come tomorrow and you have to work today to get your training." Without any hesitation, I said, "Okay, let's do it, there's nothing to lose."
After those two days, everything went wonderfully; I even got tips on my first two unofficial days of work. Everything officially started on a Wednesday, because we rest from Monday to Tuesday and work from Wednesday to Sunday (and the training days were Saturday and Sunday). By Wednesday, I started working officially, with a lot of responsibility and pressure on me.
So far, it has gone very well for me. I've had my stumbles, like any human being who makes mistakes, learns, and corrects them. But thank the Lord who watches over me from heaven, I have earned my own money and I am being my own boss.
I want to send a message to all the people who, for whatever reason, haven't been able to work: guys, it's the best thing you can do. That way, you'll never have to ask anyone for anything, and you will be free to do whatever you want.
