Tribes are niche and that could explain why a lot of witnesses might just ignore them. I ignore most except the ones that interest me, like LEO. It's like asking why people don't use some of the communities. It doesn't interest them or there isn't enough incentive to do so(Leo's high price probably attracted people who probably wouldn't have gone there otherwise).
As for the other tokens, the reasoning is the same, or I just don't trust them/their creator to uphold what they have said for a long period of time for me to put any real amount of $ into them. I've got some NFTs(dcity and rising star) since that does interest me and I'm willing to lose money in them since the ideas behind it are really cool. Plus I run a market for it :) https://nftm.art
The hack is definitely still on my mind. I even have a script that auto withdraws any SWAP.HIVE that I have on engine to make sure I don't lose any funds(might improve it and then publicize it in the near future). Engine's decentralization is around validation of the database, which is show the hack occurred from my understanding(someone went in and manually edited their balance on the engine DB). If the DB hash stops being the same as the others, that node goes out of sync. I haven't had too much time to look exactly into how this all works, but @eonwarp did a lot of work on it from my understanding so he can help explain that a lot more.
I think one of the best things engine could do is let users create their own contracts and deploy them. That would allow for so much more usage out of it and people wouldn't have to assume whatever code is running on some server truly does what the creator says it does.
Pegged token run the risk of you trusting the engine team(or whoever is pegging them) to be in control and not run off with your funds. It's the same as keeping it on an exchange. Not your keys, not your funds.
And about marky being harsh on aggored, good. I think he said it himself best.
Rightly so, but I've always said what needed to be said but no one wanted to.
Both farm farmer and mythical farmer have nothing added to them. Building one up to be good would have been so much better than making two worthless things, which to me look like a reskin. Gave me the mobile game vibes.
I run the engine witness @h-e.
