The latest Splinterlands update, which rolled out a few days ago, brought several new features. The highlight—which deserves a dedicated post of its own—is the introduction of "collector binders." These allow you to finally organize your favorite cards into a binder and show them off to friends and acquaintances.

There are so many available filters, new mechanics, and details that I couldn't possibly cover them all in this single post; however, if you're interested, you can head over to Splinterlands right now to claim your first binder—and your first sticker—for free! Even though it’s not the main topic here, I simply had to mention this exciting new feature :)

Another update that likely isn't getting much attention is the addition of 10 new tracks to the Splintervibes store. I decided to highlight this by sharing details and my personal opinion on each song—and, of course, revealing which one I liked best and why. For those unfamiliar with them, Splintervibes are NFT music tracks you can listen to while playing Brawls, Tournaments, Ranked matches, or Survival mode, or simply while browsing the Splinterlands ecosystem.

They function just like any other music app, with the unique feature that they play the tracks you’ve acquired within Splinterlands—whether by buying them from another player on the marketplace, purchasing them from the Splintervibes store, or even finding them in in-game chests, which offer a small chance of dropping these tracks. The very first Splintervibes track—"Splintervibes: Virid Venomancer"—actually came from a Reward Shop chest; it’s a fantastic track with a calm, mysterious vibe.

New SplinterVibes Tracks Added to Splinterlands

The first four songs belong to Series 1 and can be purchased with DEC or Glint. My favorite among these new tracks is "The Blade They Speak Of"; it's the first one on the list and costs 4,000 DEC—currently equivalent to around $1. Next up for DEC is "Kills for Coin" at 2,000 DEC; it feels like a lively hero-intro theme.

Then we have the Glint-based SplinterVibes. "Powerful" costs 20k Glint and features a guitar solo at the start, though the opening lyrics are hard to hear. Next is "Story to be Told" by Yabanius—representing one of the Splinterlands founders. The intro sounds a lot like a Toy Story or Disney/Pixar song, but it picks up the pace later and turns out really cool.

Finally, we have the Series 1 "Cinder" tracks. To get the 5,000 Cinder tokens required for these songs, you have to burn cards—an idea I’m not particularly fond of... The first one, "Cigar Smoke & Loyalty," features a saxophone and has a mafia-style vibe. The second one has a mysterious atmosphere and features lyrics in a language other than English.

Finally, we have the last 4 newly added songs—part of the "Series 1 - Land" set—which are purchased using resources gathered from land plots. This can be a bit more challenging, as not everyone owns land. Personally, I find the land mechanics difficult to grasp, and it’s not easy to get started without spending a significant amount. The tracks are: A Force to Behold (costing 280k Grains), Calculated Precision (112k Wood), Just Gotta Win (45k Stone), and Hear My Battle Cry (12k Stone). The last one seems particularly interesting.

After listening to each of the new Splintervibes, the one I liked best—and added to my collection—was the Captain Fellblade track, titled "The Blade They Speak Of." I wasn't familiar with the character's lore, but the Splintervibes page includes a link to check it out; it turns out Captain Fellblade was one of the most feared pirates across the seven seas of Praetoria. It was precisely that detail about her being a pirate that caught my attention...

In the Splintervibes Shop, you can listen to a short preview of the available songs. When I listened to the opening snippet of "The Blade They Speak Of," the lyrics said: "They say she's the most infamous pirate to have ever raised the Jolly Roger and sailed the seas." Hearing the words "pirate" and "Jolly Roger" immediately reminded me of the anime One Piece—where every pirate crew has its own flag, known as a Jolly Roger—and made me curious to hear the rest of the song.

I really loved the song; it has a style that tells a bit of a story at a very relaxed pace. I’m not sure if AI was used, but if it was, it didn't have that obvious, artificial feel that sometimes crops up in other tracks. Overall, I enjoyed the lore—featuring a pirate theme reminiscent of One Piece—and the rhythm is great to listen to. To top it off, the associated card is excellent, even though I don't have it in my collection yet...

Now I have a second Splintervibes song to listen to while I play, and I’ve been playing it during my matches ever since. The cost was a bit high compared to, say, the Wild Pass (which is 2,000), but it’s a song that will always brighten up my matches as long as the game exists. It’s essentially a form of entertainment, not something I’m buying with the expectation of a financial return.

Getting players to spontaneously support the ecosystem is the key aspect of Web3 games, and NFT ownership is a unique advantage in that regard.

Na última atualização do Splinterlands que aconteceu há uns dias atrás, tivemos várias novidades. A principal delas e que vai merecer um conteúdo a parte para falar só sobre ela, são os collector binders, que vão permitir você finalmente organizar as suas cartas favoritas em um binder e mostrar para os amigos e conhecidos.

É possível fazer o mesmo que em qualquer outro aplicativo de música, com o detalhe que toca as músicas que você obteve no Splinterlands, seja no marketplace comprando de um outro jogador, na loja de Splintervibes ou até mesmo em baús do jogo que tem uma pequena chance de você conseguir essas tracks lá também. A primeira primeira música Splintervibes veio de um baú na Reward Shop que é a Splintervibes: Virid Venomancer, que é ótima também, tendo uma vibe mais calma e misteriosa.

As primeiras 4 músicas são as Series 1, que podem ser compradas com DEC ou Glint. A minha música favorita dessas novas tracks "The Blade They Speak Of" está entre elas sendo a primeira custando 4000 DEC o que atualmente seria algo por volta de $1. Em seguida por DEC tem a Kills for Coin custando 2000 DEC que é como fosse uma canção de introdução de herói bem animada.

Depois temos as Splintervibes de Glint, com a Powerful custando 20k glint tendo um solo de guitarra no início, mas não dá para ouvir o começo da letra. Depois temos a Story to be Told do Yabanius que representa um dos founders do Splinterlands, que o início parece muito uma música do Toy Story ou algo da Disney/Pixar, mas que depois começa a acelerar e fica bem legal.

Por fim, temos as últimas 4 novas músicas adicionadas que são da Series 1 - Land que utilizam para comprar os recursos obtidas das lands, o que pode se mostrar mais difícil porque nem todos tem lands. Eu mesmo acho a mecânica da land difícil de entender e não tem uma facilidade de entrar sem gastar muito. As tracks são A Force to Behold custando 280k Grains, Calculated Precision 112k Wood, Just Gotta Win 45k Stone e Hear my Battle Cry 12k Stone. A última parece bem interessante.

Depois de escutar cada uma das novas Splintervibes, a que eu mais gostei e adicionei a minha coleção foi a Splintervibes: Captain Fellblade, que o nome da track é "The Blade They Speak Of". Eu não conhecia a Lore da personagem, mas na Splintervibes tem um link para conferir, parece que a Captain Fellblade foi uma das piratas mais temidas dos sete mares de Praetoria e foi justamente um detalhe sobre ser pirata que me chamou atenção...

Na Splintevibes Shop você é capaz de escutar um pequeno trecho das músicas disponíveis. Ao escutar o primeiro trecho da "The Blade They Speak Of" falou justamente: "They says she's the most infamous pirate to have ever raised the Jolly Roger and sailed the seas". Ao escutar pirate e Jolly Roger eu automaticamente me lembrei do anime One Piece em que cada grupo pirata tem a sua própria bandeira pirata chamada Jolly Roger e fique curioso em saber o restante da música.

E eu adorei a música, um estilo que vai contando um pouco da história em um ritmo bem tranquilo e não sei se foi usado IA, mas se foi não ficou muito evidente como acaba ficando em algumas músicas. No geral gostei da lore por ela ser um pirata como no anime de one piece, o ritmo da música é bom de ficar ouvindo e para completar a carta ainda é muito boa, por mais que eu ainda não tenha na coleção...

Agora eu tenho a minha segunda música Splintervibes para ouvir enquanto jogo e já tenho ouvido desde então durante as minhas partidas. O custo foi um pouco alto quando comparamos à por exemplo o Wild Pass que é 2000, mas é uma música que vai sempre alegrar as minhas partidas enquanto o jogo continuar existindo então é basicamente um entretenimento, não algo que se espera um retorno.

Conseguir fazer com que os jogadores apoiem de forma espontânea o ecossistema é justamente o ponto chave dos jogos web3, e um diferencial é a posse do NFT também.
