When you go through life without leaving anything to chance, when everything depends on your sacrifice, on what you can do with your efforts, when you are fully responsible for your actions and deeds, then the result, whatever it is and however it arrives, will always be welcome.
After so many months here in Havana singing in all the places that have given us their space, a bar called Coco Blue y la zorra pelua came to us, a funny name for a grill and an art gallery, we agreed and we carried out the event set for September 15, Friday night.
This bar enjoys an extraordinary fame, as it is among the elite of the bars where culture and art in all senses are wasted, since great artists from Cuba and outside the island have been there, artists of the stature of Roly Berrío troubadour from Santa Clara, who recently was there sharing his art. A week before the concert we start working hard in terms of promotion, because as we are not from the capital city we lack of childhood friends and family to support us in this circumstance, we are simply alone.
Many of the people who had confirmed from the beginning that they were going at the last minute had serious problems that validated their absence, others were given a reservation for Varadero, an unreachable offer, so nothing to not extend the story too much, we left for the concert without any hope that anyone would go, in a new place for our art, in a place where we intended from the beginning to stay at least once a month.
The surprise was to arrive at the place and see that next to the concert there would be an art exhibition of a Spanish artist that I was not lucky enough to meet because truly everything on display was a work of art, therefore the place was full of people, we are talking about almost 200 people that more than half of them did not reach tables or chairs, I will not lie, of our audience there were very few people, 30 were many, but there was hope that more people would stay to see the concert.
The exhibition began at seven o'clock in the evening and of course our fear was that by nine o'clock at night when the concert was planned the people had already left, we had no choice but to start the concert at half past eight, in a few minutes after we started singing to our surprise the gallery was empty and everyone started to ask for drinks, hors d'oeuvres and food while they listened to our music.
They recorded us, sang songs, requested songs and between the beauty of the place, the half light, the guitar and the voice, they spent two and a half hours of concert, where they also shared their music, some friends we invited, who also made their own. At the end we made a fixed contract for next month at coco Blue and la zorra pelua, if you do not want to miss the experience we will be waiting for you there.
