Thor and Odin arrived at Kratos's home to offer a tense peace proposal in exchange for stopping the search for Týr. Unmoved by Odin's promises to handle Freya and ignore past blood debts, Kratos flatly rejected the deal. Odin departed, leaving Thor to to deal with it.
Atreus offered two glasses, and Thor poured his own mead into them before sitting down to talk business. When Thor offered a glass to Atreus, Kratos immediately intervened and demanded to know why the God of Thunder was in their home.
Thor claimed he was merely being polite, pausing to whisper instructions into one of his crows before sending it flying into the cold air.
Thor observed Kratos, asking if he was a calm and reasonable man. Kratos answered that he was calm when the moment called for it, prompting Thor to smile and state that the present moment required just that.
A heavy pounding shook the front door, and Kratos instructed Atreus to open it. Odin stepped inside, immediately recognizable by his single remaining eye.
Moving into the cabin, Odin framed their past conflicts before Fimbulwinter as regrettable misunderstandings, claiming everyone now understood who they were dealing with.
He dismissed the deaths of Thor's sons as simple self-defense, labeling them useless, but noted that losing Baldur was a real loss.
Odin grabbed the untouched drink Thor had poured for Kratos and took a sip, remarking on Kratos's impressive nature while lightheartedly complaining that Thor was no longer any fun.
Kratos cut through the posturing, asking what Odin truly wanted. Odin stated that he wanted peace, asking how a quiet life sounded to the retired God of War.
He offered a simple pact: Kratos would stay home, refrain from seeking conflict, and cease Atreus's search for Týr, which visibly surprised Kratos.
Atreus brought out Mimir's head after Odin acknowledged Mimir's presence in the cabin, revealing Kratos silently signaled Atreus earlier to keep the head hidden while Thor arrived at first scene.
Odin sweetened his deal by offering to settle Kratos's debt with Freya, keeping her away so Kratos could focus entirely on protecting his son.
Standing up from his seat, Kratos gave a cold, single-word response: "No."
Without missing a beat, Odin turned and left the cabin, whispering to Thor not to take all day. The moment the All-Father stepped outside, Thor stood up and struck Kratos with Mjolnir.
The massive blow launched Kratos through the air under the sheer weight of the hammer, bringing the negotiation to a violent end as Thor relished the chance to finally clash with the Spartan.
