Tracking Atreus into the snowy wilderness, we discovered signs of a brutal bear struggle along a bloodstained trail. While clearing obstacles with the Leviathan Axe and discussing Atreus's future, I fought through multiple waves of raiders blocking the mountain paths.
After eliminating the raiders, I had to physically lift a fallen dead tree to clear the path, despite Kratos being fully capable of simply leaping over the barrier.
Reaching the opposite side, I found the terrain heavily disrupted alongside the carcass of a mauled bear, leading Kratos to conclude that a much larger beast had crushed the surrounding trees in a violent struggle, which destroyed the protection stave.
Tracking the footprints to locate Atreus, Mimir suggested the boy might have sought shelter from raiders and wild beasts, while I spotted fresh bloodstains leading further down the snowy path.
The trail ahead was blocked across a wide gap by another fallen log, requiring me to aim and hurl the Leviathan Axe to shatter the wooden obstruction and clear a crossing.
Advancing along the path, Mimir asked about the recent dispute, and Kratos explained their argument, stating that a reckoning was coming and Atreus needed to know how to survive independently.
We squeezed through a narrow mountain cave acting as a tunnel through the rock, emerged on the other side to find another group of raiders patrolling the path.
Following combat prompts, I powered up the Leviathan Axe before chaining ranged attacks and hurling the blade directly into one of the advancing raiders.
I charged into close quarters with a leaping strike, following up with brutal barehanded melee attacks to rip the stunned raider completely in half.
Engaging the remaining raider, I unleashed heavy axe combos to break his guard before executing a vicious finishing move to eliminate him.
Just as I thought the area was secured, more raiders ambushed us, forcing me back into combat to clear the path once again.
With the immediate threat neutralized, I resumed tracking the footsteps up the steep slope, while Mimir pointed out an alternate route leading around the mountainside, mentioning we can't go through there.
While scouting the path around the mountain, another wave of raiders attacked. I eliminated the first with consecutive axe throws from a distance before dispatching the rest in close-quarters melee combat.
That's all for this session. More moments coming soon and thanks for checking it out.
