An abrupt knock snapped Sergeant Cane into reality.
“Come in”, he said gruffly.
The door opened revealing the young detective in training.
“The culprit's been found.”
His brow furrowed, “So who is it?”
“A modest amount of mushrooms.”
“Mushroom?”
She smiled while he handed her a bill.
"Damn...I lost. Again."
